That little disclaimer at the start that this isn’t supposed to be an “improvement” or a one-up on Lego is so classy and self aware. Kudos!

I think the wedge was in the official Optimus for his mouth guard, but it's nice to see it's use expanded. I do wish we went back to limbs with full articulation, it's something I loved of the originals, both for them as sets and for my mocs.

would love more of these. I often like to think of what franchises would be like if they added mechs to them. "stormtrooper" mech sounds like a blast and i would love to see your interpretation

honestly the way the proportions look, this could pass up as a "full guy" as u called him, just a little more stylized and exaggerated in his shape like something youd see in an anime, great build! Ill definitely keep in mind that shoulder armor technique, it looks so sleek

To not let light through I think he could use the 1 by 4 plates. It’s allowed as a technique. Still allowing for articulation, but removed most light. Saving your treads for other projects.

Vader finally has unlimited power!

Tip for improving it without using other parts: rotate the lightsaber holder 90°, that way its coming out of the arm and looks more natural. Also use the lightsaber tube end and the spare to fill in the crotch. Easy. Also you could use the spare lightsaber to store two hilts on the back, just in case! For reference, the lightsaber improvement should be coming out or the forearm on the bottom of the hand. It makes the "mecha" feel look better. All this is using the parts included. Have fun 😊

True but again I’m fairly certain their priority is to build something that is simple for children to put together, and not frustrating to play with. They aren’t trying to make expert level collectible replicas which is good because it means we get to!

I actually did do my own re-create of this, except I kept the non-possible joints, but I gave it possible hands and completely redid the cockpit and gave it a transparent dome piece over his head

If you want more ideas for humanoid Star Wars mechs, there's always the now Legends versions of the Darktroopers.

I think another reason for lego making bad mechs is because they intentionally want us to improve on these mechs beacuse lego is about usinv our imagination and making things ourselves
