This is SO nostalgic for me. I loved this theme as a kid, but I could only afford the cheapest ones. About a year ago I bought a whole bunch on eBay so I now have all of them. Still the best unlicensed theme LEGO has produced so far, maybe even the best ever? Definitely my favorite theme of all time

Personally, Bionicle is my favorite unlicensed theme, but, I'd say that definitely Power Miners and Mars Mission had the best minifigure ideas, they both had incredibly good ideas that weren't used much anywhere else.

I had all of the original wave 1 sets. Alas they are lost to my Lego grave yard bin, but not for long. I've started sorting all my Legos in the hopes of being able to rebuild every set that I once had. Never give up on Nostalgia

When I was small I did not understand anything that was being said, since English was not my language. Now I understand and I really appreciate the commentary and those nostalgic voices.

Just goes to show that they are no different than most other humans, especially ones working for government organizations. Sad that these LEGO guys aren't beyond that kind of behavior. It also reminds me of Ultraman, they blast creatures pretty much just for being giant, looking different, and existing.

I always used to watch these when I was ads when I was younger, knowing we couldn't afford it. Now I can't wait to relive my childhood

I remember seeing these commercials as a kid and wanting one of these sets. Not sure why I never ending up getting them

Missed this LEGO theme, I have 6 of them (numbers base on the vehicle )1, 2, 3, 4, 9, lava version that shoot blue flame thrower (forgot the number)

I relley want more power miners

I know I’m gonna soundc rude here, but I would just like to correct some people. (I know I’m very late but still.) The power miner are not the bad guys here, neither are the rock monsters (well except for 2 which the Crystal king and Eruptor.) The real problem is the crystal: In the comic it has been shown that rock monster normally do not eat these. Their normal food source are ordinary rocks. We do not know form where the crystal came from but it has been hinted that they do not come from earth. When rock monster eat crystal they do indeed cause earthquake and gain Hercule-like strength, (It was shown in the first comic issue in fact. And they ate them long before the power miners arrival. Causing earthquakes) This huge gain of strength also seem to increase their destructive behaviors, not necessarily making them evil , but more malicious. It make them feel very powerful, which is why they are angry when the miner take them away. They also seem to ignore the damage they are causing. Some crystal are shown in the third season to turn rock monster into fire monster, however once they are extinguished they do go back to normal and become friendly if a bit confuse. Has said before only two rock monster are really evil: - the crystal king who want to conquer the earth by eating all the crystal and destroying the power miners. -Eruptor the giant lava monster who want to keep all the crystal for himself. So yeah the power miner are the good guys, they are not some corporation hired by some mustache monopoly man to steal ressource or something like that. They are skilled individual hired to solve a problem that could destroy the entire world if not taken care of. Also they are also no hint that crystal were use as a form of energy source later, but i would say that even that would be better then you know... leaving those unstable crystal alone so that something else feed on it and destroy the earth. Not every story is like James Cameron avatar. So yeah that my little correction , next time check the lore ;)

I remember watching these with the clutch powers movie

just like how the lego city water / boat, atlantis, and aquazone sets made me / kids want to play with legos in a pool / water, power miners and these commercials really made me want to just play with them in some dirt. I brought the mining bike with me (the only PM set I owned as a kid for a long time) to go camping with me, my brothers, and my dad and I played with the bike and the rock monsters in the dirt. It was fun times as a kiddo lol.

True times... *_That were sets that neo kids now will never see..._* sad how it gone...

Ya, the Bionicle G1 era and everything that LEGO and MEGA BLOKS released around that time period was great, the toys were amazing, the shows were amazing, and everyone could animate what they wanted with little to no issues and everyone wasn't a bunch of crybabies, good times, I miss the first ten years of my life sometimes.

@@exelierxe.e Ya, last time I went to the stores I went to multiple and one of the only things that looked really cool was a Transformers Grimlock that looked identical to the G1 show, and there were some cool Ninjago sets. but the Grimlock was the only toy that really stood out to me, so that is like one or 2 things looking through several stores.

Quick question but have you noticed that the Rock monsters are one of the most reused lego models in their other franchises? The Lego Universe mmo had the Giant rock monsters as enemies The Ninjago DS game (the first one) had them in the underworld as enemies for the skeleton army The Ninjago series had the Giant rock monsters on that mountain of terror in the dimension where garmadon grew his 4 Arms And at last to my knowleadge they appeard in Nexoknights in the Set Infernox captures the queen (aka. set Nr. 70325) (and these are only the ones I know of/remember of the top of my head) A theory of mine, is that the rock monsters are some kind of interdimensional plage or parasite, that could explain why all of a sudden the Earth quakes happend in the Power miners "universe", which as it appears to me could also only be the City franchise, but it got so bad that the put all of their money into a underground caving expedition because they've got so desperate. But if they are interdimensional parasites it could explain why they are found in so many different realms. With there same goal of just looking for energy, in the case of these commercials the crystals.

Bro, I remember these commercials. My son loved this set series from LEGO. It’s funny because in these commercials Lego did not feature the minifigure’s mouths moving with their lines. Ah classic toy commercials.

I had the claw digger and cristal sweeper, as well as the limited edition Power Miners base. My little brother had the Power Drill. Best lego set ever.

This and Mars Mission were my favourite LEGO themes as a kid.

Kinda like real life, LOL. I mean all other creatures on the planet are instinct driven and automatically good on the condition that they don't intend harm to anything, their only real drives are what evolution taught them is efficient for their own survival, humans intentionally do creepy stuff all the time and usually don't consider stuff like not deforesting if it sacrifices a paycheck and stuff like that and it makes me sick. Also a huge amount of creatures probably get killed in wars that have nothing to do with the war just because they are in bomb range and stuff, and that kind of disaster is always caused by selfish human whims. I know there are also a lot of good ones, but it seems rare that one is good enough and powerful enough at the same time to just stop the senseless violence and destruction.
