This is probably the most classic brickfilm ever made, I remember watching it when I was about 6 years old, and here I am again.

This is so fax...omg. do u remember that one lego pirates series that had 3 installations with the soundtracks from Indiana Jones I think. The pirates had to help the islanders and stuff. They've since removed them but dang, my childhood 😢

@@DougVandegrift Same goes for me. The school year was 2012-2013 so I don't exactly remember specifically when, but I DO remember my teacher playing this for our class (for some reason) and it scared the living shit outa me. I actually randomly thought about it after all these years, so I searched it up, found this one, fast forwarded it near the end, because the ending with the hero dying and his daughter mourning for him was the only specific scene I remembered well, and after I got confirmation that this was indeed the video, here I am boring you with my long comment
Thanks for your kind words. Because of all the positive feedback I'm really starting to work hard to make new brickfilms in the near future.

Please do, I cried first time watching this. Brilliantly written and actually better than most modern movies.
This is honestly what guided me to start making stop motions. I remember watching this over and over by my grandparents and saying "I want to do that!" Thank you for inspiring me to do stop motion.
I like how the friendly pirate and the tavern girl he talks to are the faces of Johnny Thunder and Pippin Read. Fitting.
same here. Used to watch this as a child. I'm watching it at 20 now and for being made in 2011 this is great.

Yes I watched this ages ago too. For some reason I thought it was older than 2011 though, are you sure that's not just the upload date here on KZread, but the actual production date? For a while I was building up my Lego collection, as I wanted to get into brick films and animation too. Sadly life got in the way :(. Maybe one day.

This is one of ,if not the best Lego film it’s made well ,the ships and other creations are amazing! I remember watching this film when it first came out and here I am watching it again over a decade later.
Dear Doug, My name is Nathan, and I make lego animations as well. I just wanted to let you know that you were the person who inspired me to do lego animations. This amazing film came out, I was just 8 years old (I know the originals came out back in 2008). Back then I didn't know how stop motion animations worked, and when I saw this film, it seemed magical to me. From the day I watched the film, forward, I set it to be my goal to make these works of art. I learned how stop motion worked, I began to watch many "brickfilmers", I even went to stop motion camp. Now at 14 years old I have a KZread channel with almost 500 subscribers! You inspired me to make lego stop motions, and I think I owe it all to you. That is why I want to say thank you for helping me learn to do something I never knew I wanted to do! Sincerely, Nathan Hirsch

@tato982 Every now and then I make custom pieces for my brickfilms. This cutlass was a custom piece. molded with clay and plastic. Similar to what brickarms is.
I remember watching this so many times when I was little. 2 things played a big part in my early childhood, Lego and the early stop motion films made with Lego. Thank you for being a big part of those memories with this film.
This movie should be called "Everybody Dies!"
