LEGO Modular: Boutique Hotel Review 10297)

Ойын-сауық

The 2022 modular building is the Boutique Hotel (10297) and I am absolutely blown away by this set! What a great addition to the Modular Buildings Collection and a wonderful 15th year anniversary set.
It contains 3066 pieces and will be available starting on January 1st, 2022. I was initially so shocked at the unique shape of this set, since all the previous modulars are (mostly) symmetrical but I love that this one is unique. The size of the modular is the same as all the others (fits on one baseplate), but instead of the hotel taking up the entire baseplate, there is a smaller Art Gallery to the side (El Cubo Fine Art).
The modular buildings all come with fascinating stories provided through the instructions. The notes included in the instructions really help to bring this set to life and gives it a lot more character once we learn the backstory as well as the ins and outs of the many details contained inside.
This set was provided by LAN and LEGO for review. Thank you so much! All opinions in this video are my own :)

the Parisian restaurant is the only set that can enhance it. The windows that turn to the rear would have a front wall with any other modular. And who would pay for a room with a view on a wall? :)

Totally agree! If there ever was a modular set that just BEGS to be MOC’d up … this is it! First order of business is to add at least a common restroom and shower for the rooms that don’t have one! Maybe the fact that there are FOUR keys at the front desk … yet, only THREE rooms might be a dead giveaway that this set likely was a victim of “price point and budget restraints” for the designer! Can’t wait to see alternate builds for this “little” jewel!

Another thing that is missing is an elevator! What the heck is that luggage cart for … just to bring bags into the lobby, only to have to schlep them up the steps?!? No utility or storage closets? Cleaning staff bring all their own stuff? Where do they keep the chocolate stored? So many questions! (lol)

I can't make anything of the last name in the guestbook. Could it be a reference to the dentist from Assembly Square and veterinarian Dr. Jones from the Corner Garage? I'm from Florida and I was wondering why this reminded me of Florida haha! Yes! It totally reminds me of Key West!

I actually don’t like the Angle of it because it can look ugly when attached to other Modulars

I was also worried about that! I've already tried seeing how it looks next to some of the modulars and it can make it a bit trickier to find a good home for it in a LEGO City, but I like that it's different :)

The printed piece that goes in the window is cubist style art . The one one you think is cubist is “color blocking” . Easy mistake to make.

I felt the same but it kind of grows on you. When placed with the other modulars it helps them stand out a lot.
