I honestly really like that consistency. It's one of the main reasons I love Lego so much Batman and Spider-Man both fit perfectly into Luke's landspeeder with Harry Potter in the backseat

Build wise, it's scuffed. But parts wise, that's where my attention is at!

I created a Buckbeak MOC - available on Rebrickable. Make up your own mind which you think is better. I think the official version is good as a parts set - just not as a Buckbeak build!

I thought this would scale better with Buildable Harry & Hermione. It doesn’t seem necessary to my collection but if I need some fun I might pick it up.

just fyi, the second sentence of the first section of the description for this video seems to be about the mandrake set, not this one. the part about it being a pseudo-botanical set.

I have bought all of the buildable creatures but this one’s a miss. Looks like it was built by a child not a designer. Can’t believe lego released this. I bought 2 expecto petronum to display the 2 builds but this is chunky with unfinished legs. Thanks so much for your reviews. 8:03 8:03

The patronus and all the others fit better with Buildable Harry and Hermione. This doesn’t seem close enough scale or I would get it.

HUGE question: why not making an animated model like the they did for Hedwig, Fox and the Hungarian Horntail ?

Hot take, but I'm not sure why this exists. I agree this doesn't feel Harry Potter at all, it has this Creator-meets-Bionicle vibe to me. It looks like a metal robot rather than a creature tbh. I don't like Creator's thing for building animals, pumpkins etc. yourself, when all of that already exists as molded pieces. It makes the side build style-wise incompatible with Hagrid's Hut or the Forbidden Forest sets, which is really in contrast with the rest of the sets specifically designed by Atticus and George Gilliat to fit or complement one another. The only set in the wave I'll be skipping.

Take a look at my Buckbeak MOC on Rebrickable - it flaps its wings and fits right in with the official Lego Fawkes, Hedwig and the Hungarian Horntail dragon builds.

@@i_price I'm not a huge fan of Prisoner of Azkaban and more of a Chamber of Secrets guy, currently working on something I like to call UCS Aragog's Lair which is mostly an alt build of multiple copies of Forbidden Forest and upcoming Aragog sets. But yeah, I can tell your Buckbeak was definitely designed to be consistent with the similar official display sets, great job!

Think this one can fit next to Buildable Harry & Hermione or no? I put the patronus, dobby and trunks with them. I think maybe the new Hedwig privet drive sign could fit them too.

I'm the only person that actually likes this set. Look, I'm not saying it's the best set ever (because it's not); but you have to understand my viewpoint on this. My main and only interest in the Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts universe are the creatures. I'm happy that Lego has made sets based on some of them. I would have preferred if Lego made Buckbeak like how they made the previous ones, aka on a stand and with a function to flap the wings, but I'm not against this idea either. Could Buckbeak look a bit better, sure. But that's the beauty of Lego: you can always change/fix things. Dont like the anti studs being shown on the front of the legs, then flip them! (Should be easy tbh). Dont like head, then redesign it! That's just my take on the set. Now watch me get bombarded with negativity just for voicing my opinion.

I’m so upset about this wave of Harry Potter, some of the builds are good don’t get me wrong, but every thing is way over priced.

This build just looks ugly to me. The side build is the nicest part of the set.

It's a great idea, not so good execution.

Why not get the worst out of the way first and save the best for last? I was feeling so good watching this wave of reviews, and then you ruined it for me by ending it on a downer. I would prefer it if, in future waves, you got the worst sets out of the way first and end on a high note.

Because people want to see the most excited sets first, and I may not even cover the boring ones. Also, you’re watching this almost two weeks later, you can watch them in whatever order you want.

It's awful and parts look disproportionate to other parts

The head, the legs, the wings, it's all bad. One of the worst Lego sets ever. Haven't loved them all but this is the first Lego Harry Potter set since 2018 I will not be purchasing.
