I don't keep spiders but I thought it happens because spider legs are actuated by a hydraulic like system instead of muscles and when a spider dies the fluids dry out which causes the legs to curl in. I have seen many dead spiders of smaller species with curled up legs. Does that not happen to tarantulas?

@@uzul42 Common misconception, when they die they actually just go limp. they are hydraulic but the lack of fluids doesnt make them curl up, it does the oppositte, which is why they go limp. The actual reason spiders curl up is when they shed their old shell, when they grow

Combine it with Hagrid's hut ftom this year, the Harry minifigure from (insert midlegs blue hoodie Potter figure from [insert set here] and Slughorn head from the advent calander on a Vernon torso) and it can be 1/1 accurate

Definitely picking this up just for the giant spider, maybe two even. Don't care for Harry Potter, but any monsters fitting medieval fantasy and DnD is a must-buy. The side build isn't bad either for parts.

The comparison is insane how different they are in the space of a few years. I will certainly need to pick this up for all things spooky!

I would almost say this aragog is too scary for kids. The old version was just cartoony enough to not trigger arachnophobia, this is a bit too realistic.

Not as bad as Aragogs design in Lego Harry years 1-4 in my opinion. Always creeped me the hell out as a kid especially that chase section after his boss fight.

i have not gotten any harry potter sets since the original ones in 2018😭 so these recent releases especially the hall set are makeing me want to get them 🥲

it's somehow amazing how lego harry potter just gets better every time they remake a new set. IMO each new aragog is better than the one before, and each hagrid's hut is better than the one that came before that, and etc etc.

I'm going to buy a few of these set to make the spider forest from the Hobbit and use cotton as webs for a moc I wanted to make even though Im terrified of spiders 😂.Great video Ash.

I might get this because it's a spider but I have to admit I'm not excited for the new HP sets, though I might get more interested after some reviews. I still think the books playsets were the best HP themed sets (individually, at least).

That is very subjective. For a large amount of the people I’ve seen comment on this set, they’ve all said it’s fantastic for its accuracy. Besides just because a set is creepy doesn’t equate to being made into an 18+ set. An 18+ set is only 18+ when its a really large and usually expensive set with a lot of pieces in it. Though it wouldn’t make much of a difference if it was 18+. They sell 18+ sets at target, so people would see it in stores anyway.

I'm a Transformers fan so I have Legacy Tarantulas (a Predacon who turns into a spider as his beast mode). I like that figure despite being like Ron, not liking spiders very much. This set, however, is similar. So I'll probably get this at some point (maybe have Tarantulas fight and destroy Aragog a bit, or even Brawl or a similar type of tank collectible). BTW I know some ppl are fans of spiders; this is nothing against them, I'm just saying how I may display this model if I don't take it apart so I don't forget its a toy; it's that realistic).

You can basically use Aragog as the Shelob from LOTR lol 😅

My friend hates spiders. This is definitely a set she should avoid.

The car and dog are both in other sets. Together you’d be looking at a $40+ set
