The Animation Maniac Don't worry if an elevator ever gets detached and it has a brake system, there's no need for it because elevators have to be inspected once a year

The Animation Maniac it is my fear

Many people have asked me why the falling elevator caused all that damage. I think it's time to reply :) While I was filming those last scenes, I thought that the elevator will just fall to the bottom of the elevator shaft and not cause any harm. Then I thought that would be too boring. So the answer is action. The end needed something. I decided to blow up the damn thing when it hit the ground-floor.

Great quality animation. It's well done. I like the fact that it adds some suspense and a great build up near the end. I can see the time and effort behind this. Great work.

Excellent sound effects! They really did a good job at setting the mood; I felt as though I was in the situation!

I like how these videos start out as just normal everyday things, and then become destructive disasters, some of which can be caused by the simplest of things.

This is the first Lego stop motion vid I've watched in years, since I was a kid, and the nostalgia is just rushing back. I used to love animations like this, great work.

Um, doesn't every legal elevator have a stop mechanism?

I love stop motion it’s like the characters are actually moving, in working on an animation

this really gets you to start thinking on what you'd do in case of a REAL emergency on an elevator!

I love how he doesn't call the fire brigade or anything when it crashes, and also doesn't just sit there and wait patiently to be rescued, if he had done that then none of those people would have dies horrible in the flames

Actually, elevators have extensive safety features. The usually have 4 cables and the chance of them breaking is super slim. And even if they all broke the elevator would not plummet. It has brakes on the elevator. And If all else fails there is a buffer on the bottom. Yes, you will get seriously injured but you won't die. They are the safest motive for transportation. And NEVER go through the hatch. EVER. The elevator will stop working if you open the hatch. And it's safer to be in the car rather than on top. It is super dangerous up there. Most deaths and injuries occur to technicians on top of the elevator. It's so dangerous they give you complete control of the elevator up there. But it is still a good lego animation cheers mate.

The way the elevator collapsed got me. I think the elevator car 2 now says "Elevator Out of Service" or OS.

that is why you should always have a SOS button on the elevator.

Wow, that was pretty cool. One thing I think you could improve upon: the walk cycle for all the lego people looked really awkward. Instead of one foot forward, other foot catches up, move the second foot past the first foot. That would probably make it look much better.

I think it's really cool that more if it had episodes without happening some tragedy would be more interesting and less repetitive...

Ahhh, this is what scared me when I saw a scratched up elevator that I had to go in at the shopping mall!
