Lego City Trains Building A Big L Gauge Railway Layout & Train Crashes
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Lego trains are awesome, let's build a huge Lego train set and have lots of fun. The Lego train system is large, remote controlled and overall very impressive. It's also fairly costly, but well worth the major investment once you see multiple Lego train sets and track packs combined. Put it this way once you get one Lego train set it just screams to be made bigger. It's a highly addictive train system.
Lego Trains is a product range and theme of the construction toy Lego, which incorporates buildable train sets. Products in the range have included locomotives, tracks, rolling stock, train stations, signal houses, and other track-side buildings. The theme is popular among adult fans, as well as children, and has spawned international associations and conventions. The train system is sometimes referred to as 'L-gauge' among fans, in reference to traditional model railway scales even though the Lego trains are at least 2 centimeters wider than O gauge trains. The design of Lego trains has developed substantially, with several different systems introduced, with varying degrees of cross-compatibility.
There are clone knockoff Lego styled trains. The Enlighten train track is identical to Lego track system. The only difference in colour and cost. Some Lego clone companies have ripped off identical train designs, but these sets are difficult to obtain and tend not to be powered.

This man inspired me to start my entire setup and now I have 3 trains and a huge layout. This is me a few years later and I’m super happy on how it turned out!
Glad to see you going in on these trains. Track is actually cheaper than it use to be here, but where is a crossing with the new track? I love crossings and wish they made it with the current power functions track. You really got a lot of track.
dont worry, you not the only one obsessed with trains

Oh I remember when this video was first uploaded
The battery packs are $50 in the US but work great. I only have 3 of them. I would get more if they weren't so expensive.

When the yellow cargo train came out I bought a bunch and sold the engines and cars and ended up with a lot of track. Never can have enough straight tracks

I've always had a knack for those Lego system trains, they are just, as you said in the video, a trap. Once you buy a single set, you want to buy more and more track packs and train sets. They are great!
I WANT THAT SO BADDDDD i have the super fast express and i cant stop playing

10:39 Leo: Everything is Awesome! My brain: Everything is cool when you’re part of the team Everything is awesome When you live in our dream.
Hey Leo you could use the devil track/knockoff track as like rusty rails
I love the Lego movie and songs
I had a station from Lego City that didn't come with track or a train but was very cool.
I also love the red passenger train
I miss the days when you could buy locos and rolling stock separately. I got a steam train from that 'era' but LEGO stopped doing them before I could get any coaches/trucks for it :( I really wish I could indulge in my love of LEGO sets but I just don't have the funds to do it. I always spend my money on computer games or stuff which I don't really end up playing with. maybe when I get a job I'll be able to start building a LEGO city, just like I've always dreamed, but for now I guess I'll have to make do with a drawer full of minifigures, several vehicles on shelves and 3 planes hanging from the ceiling.
I'm going to start collecting lego trains
Look out for the train!
it's cool that already at this age he has so many trains
Very impressive layout indeed. I've got my eyes on a LEGO train set at the moment but just waiting for the sales hahaha. Probably the best time to buy sets like this would be around Christmas time or half yearly sales were they have decent discounts. Personally I really love that red Diesel engine, it has such amazing detailing. I feel that rechargeable batteries should be incorporated into sets like this because 9 batteries seems to be a little overdone and it would help these beautiful trains from getting damaged by possible leaking batteries overtime. Would be a shame. Looking forward to Part 2! :)
lego trains+crash=fun!!!!
the red passenger train was my first lego train set too which I run it as a 5 car train so your set up is great
Times when life wasnt hard
Wow, this brings me back to when I was 5
I haven't had much experience with Lego trains in all the years I've been a collector, but I did in my younger days have the monorail system they had with older space sets. It was pretty interesting and I'd love for Lego to bring it back.

+James Bowen I think the Lego Trains from the 1980's are the ones to get, it looked and sounded like a real model railway. The Lego trains of today are made to a price. The worst aspect is the remote control system that is so often non responsive unless your very close to the train.
@PowerChordEPS

IIRC the monorails had a central unit in the middle of the train which did most of the heavy lifting and a unique tooth and gear track. I still have some track, but not the power pack or any other pieces. I remember seeing Lego trains from the 90s which looked pretty nice and without the price that equates to the GDP of a small island nation.

If you still have any monorail parts i would recommend selling them, it is one of the most wanted lego sets out there. A couple of years ago a sealed one sold on line for upwards of £2000 but any extra parts people desperately buy.

+JOUE BIEN TECH well Ninjago came back and can now self spin...wow I wonder who gave Lego that idea!
you gotta love it: more mayhem than the Island of Sodor! While I readily admit to crashing my trains when I was younger, I learned quick that $200 US dollar steam locomotives in N scale don't like falling on the floor.

Also as a tip for owning Power functions RC trains is to mark each controller with little Lego bricks whose color represent to which train it belongs to. For example. The Red Passenger Train: Red And White.

My first train set was the red passenger train, too!

I'm sorry for you, in America, the switch track is $15, straights for $18, $100-$200 for lego trains. Anything over $200 is vintage or retired trains. DANG! I wish I had as many train things as you, all I have is 60051, 7938, 2 switch track sets, and 2 straight track sets.

Also, there is an actual rechargeable battery box, but it's only available in some countries. Also, it's already $55 in America, so good luck. I came here for redback spiders! And I found Lego trains... I wish I had the cargo trains, I have all the passengers but don't have any cargo's. You should invest in 9V trains if you hate batteries. The only issue is that they're retired.
Blue cargo train is my favourite
looks soooooooooooooooooooooo fun!
4 flexable track = One straight track
I like the blue train 60052
I have completed Big Ben v3.5, my biggest Lego project yet. In this version, I have added support to the boiler via the drive chassis; strengthened the cab-boiler mountings (more or less); added a running board to either side; streamlined the two Kylchap double-stacks; made sure that the cab didn't swing too far outside of the curves- still doesn't handle standard Lego curves without derailing- and worked out any other major kinks in the design.

BTW, Leo, I was thinking, with my parents' permission, to come visit your home and show you my work (I'm a productive person when I have my Legos). I have absolutely no idea how to upload videos, I can't post photos on KZread, and I'm a big fan of what you do.
That track layout is mausive!
I have loved these sets since they first came out. Unfortunately I was young so they often got broken up and ended up in the LEGO shed (Yes I have a full shed - My Dad has five though!) My old shed has been cleared out and my Grandparents are piecing together my older sets. Today I got about 5 more trains (I have all of the city ones except the new sets) I have a lot of building to do now. I find myself preferring the nicer creator expert trains Highly recommend them but you do need to buy the power functions separately. Great video as always leo.
The first lego train set I've ever got was train 60052
Cool
Great collection
The knockoff track looks like it could be good for representing rusty tracks.
looks like the Lego trains do have some serious power though! As long as they aren't faulty..
lego city all train are my fav number 1 toy
Good I wish I'd had this much track when I was little. Then again it was 9V stuff when I was small
You should do a custom Lego Thomas train like these ones and more giveaways
Epic video
I have a lot of lego trains too and as you say, you cannot have too much (except for your marriage !). The trains don't come with LiPo batteries as these are expensive and would make the initial cost too high,. I would strongly recommend get your self a pile of NiMh batteries (cough cough Eneloop are the best) and a fast charger which will charge these in less than 1 hour. The controllers take little power and I have not changed the standard alkaline batteries and they have lasted years. Great video - keep buying the trains.... !
and this is why railways have speed limits
I remember being so Jealous ,because i wanted all those lego trains so bad!
If you don't like the enlighten track try painting them the color of the normal tracks.

Jack Jackson they are knockoff tracks children could die from the knockoff track
I would buy both
cool! Not a waist of money at all!
train go om so cool
nice job lego trains are so cool
I think you just put one of LEGOs kids through college with the ammount of LEGO displayed in this video. We have the red train, but my kids didn't stick with the trains. Lucky me.

+kkehoe5 Sadly I can't stop buying this Lego train stuff, it's a great scale and if done big very impressive. Just doing one set is really an injustice.
10:03 red train: Ha-ha loser!
Use the brown tracks to make a abandon track
That was amazingly AWESOME!
I normally would would get a city train if I was going to play with it but if I wanted something that could display then I would go with a creator expert set like the horizon express or emerald night. I have never owned a lego train (except the time I asked for one and a bunch of track and only got track) but I want to some day.
just the sets alone is a crazy $1660
that red freight engine is known in America as the genset switcher
i like lego
you can use the nockoff track as rusty/croded track
hey leo I just got the thomas and friends ship wreck rails set and I am going to review it tomorrow.
I really like this video
I have a Maersk train that i got with a big tub of used lego sets. I haven't figured out the controller yet, and I have to get some other pieces to replace the missing panels.
Leo you need to get the winter holiday express for your son for Christmas, it's a lego push train set
How did I not know about this channel until now?
Best. Channel. EVER. (at least the lego)
13:16 rip cars
my favorite Lego train set is the blue cargo train
you should get the emerald night lego steam engine you can hook up a powered wheel bogie and it comes with one coach
'CUZ THERE'S A FREIGHT TRAIN COMIN' THROUUUUUUUuuuuu..
I am amazed about all your trains you have. It is awesome to see that you have tuns of Lego trains. You are the best.
Hey I like the exact same train as you do
10:16 and then there was trouble!
and a little bit of flex track for a circle track
What I find funny about batteries is that one of my O Gauge trains uses a 9 volt battery for the RailSounds features for the locomotive. What is awesome is that every time the track power is on, that 9 volt battery is getting charged. My only problem now is just corrosion.
nice collection of trains! with the IR recevers the best way to make them work better is to have hen elevatered up a bit so they they stick out the top of the train a bit, makes them work so well
Wow, I really was waiting that you make another video on Lego Trains. Everything looks nice indeed, Classic fun!
Sir, your son is an awesome engineer.
love it!
I also live in Australia, but I've only seen a few high end Lego Train sets, and pretty much no track packs. hmm...

You can act like the brown track is rusty track and you can leave some gaps in the layout. I see a lot of people painting trackmaster track to make it look like rusty rails.
the lego yellow train was my first
You could use the knock of track for a desert theme
