Well done, O/B! All very practical modifications that make sense and definitely improve a great set. I'd like to consider similar mods when I get around to this one myself.

Very glad to know that I'm not the only person who thought this truck needed a few modifications! Personally, I'm planning to build three of these recycling trucks to complement the green Garbage Truck from The LEGO Movie: one for Paper, one for Food Waste, and one for Glass/Plastic. It bothered me that the set included a way for the minifigures to sort their recycling, only for it to be all comingled again inside the single truck. So three trucks it is! In real life, I have four waste bins: trash, yard waste, comingled recycling (cardboard, paper, plastic, metal), and glass. However, the trucks that pick up the different types of cans all look the same on the outside, so while I considered recoloring the recycling trucks to match the kind of waste they picked up, I decided against it

Another thing I don’t understand about this set is why the trash cans don’t come with lids. The old recycle truck set 4432 had all that.

It's definitely a missing detail, and would have cost next to nothing to include

@@OFFICERBRICK It's sad how a set from a decade ago beats a set from today.

Nice extra details, what did you use for the steps for minifigures to use in the rear?

    I attached a bar to the clip plate. I used a LEGO Brick 2 x 4 with Curved Top (6192 / 30337) with a LEGO Plate 1 x 2 with Horizontal Clips (Open 'O' Clips) (49563 / 60470)
