I loved really that game when I was little! I even tried to imagine scenes with beating a King!😁 Now unfortunately my computer can't read the CD🙁 At least have nice memories😊

It looks as if completing the pirate missions allows you to view all the chess piece cutscenes.

You can view a cutscene once you’ve done the capture in game. You don’t have to win, just perform the move that allows you to take the piece.
