Actually there there because if you accidentaly break one or more of your pieces you have to buy another set that you dont need to build so dont throw it in the trash you might need it

To me, the extra pieces are kind of a complimentary “repair kit”, so if a small piece falls off of your set, you have another one of those pieces to “repair” your set with

From my experience as a huge lego collector, I’ve always either put the extra pieces in a ziplock bag and inside the empty box or into my sterilite’s sorted by colour. I feel extra pieces are only useful when food or parts for a Lego CMF Box or blind bag. I barely incorporate them into Mocs, etc. Awesome video optimistic BTW, it’s really good to see you keep up the consistency!

I feel that! I think the best way to get them into mocs would be to just store them with your other parts; treat them like any other piece, ya know. And thank you my man! Glad you liked it!

I always sort my extras into my parts storage for potential later use. You have no idea how much money I’ve saved from not needing to buy certain parts from bricklink all because I’ve saved some smaller/useful parts

The way I use them is 1) improve the set with them; 2) stack them all in one big thing; 3) throw them in the bin (or put them back in the Advent Calendar door and forget about it) You remind me of TD Bricks, but calmer. I like that. Keep up the good work.👍

I got that Santa's sleigh set a couple years back, and I had a leftover 3-length bar, Lightsaber handle, and frosting piece, all gold, so I stuck them together to give Santa a magic staff.

I just keep a pile of extra pieces on my desk. gotta keep the collection growing

So from what I understand, the Lego company adds extra pieces that aren’t needed just to make their sets weigh the proper amount that way the machines always stay calibrated and don’t make mistakes. It’s easy for them to calibrate the bigger pieces but the smaller pieces that don’t weigh much at all, they can’t be safe. They always put an extra.

As yes, I love sitting down at my table to have a drink and eat some gelatin squares.

Extra pieces are there because if u lost some pieces, and u don't find them, u can use Extra pieces! 😊

They're actually there because the bags are measured by weight. They always ensure that there's one too many of the very light pieces, since otherwise they run the risk of there being one too few, and making the set incomplete. If that happens, you can just send a request to replace them. Replacements are free

Sometimes, small pieces won't print or won't be sealed, and that's why LEGO makes extra pieces.

@@Skyblue92u They are, but the pieces that gain the “extra” factor are based on their weight. For example, a stud is way more light than a 2x4 brick, so the stud gets to become an extra piece!

The spares being the same in sets are often the way I double check I’ve not missed a step. I’ll get suspicious of all the spare parts but it’s always a relief when a a speed build of the set has the same.

6:07 I used to do this! I don't do it as much anymore. Sometimes, I still find my extra pieces that are still connected to each other. One time, I even got an extra sticker sheet in a Ninjago set.

From my experience collecting lego star wars and some natural looking sets, extra pieces are great for modifying the set to add more detail and create a unique look, ive modified so many ships and the lotr rivendell set with just the extra pieces from each set, and it improves the look greatly. Especially on mando's N-1

I got a bee house minecraft set recently and used the extra angry bee face to make the bees attacking the zombie, it was wild

I sort mine into little zip locks and store them all in a big one- never know when they may come in handy...

3:51 They are just customisation for minifigures. I have Ninjago water dragon set were the bone guard was said to be provided with shurikens but they have given blades and swords which u can replace with the shurikens.

The extra parts are for emergencies if you break a certain part or your dog gets a hold to your lego build.
