Actually find all of this very nice! Though I've usually been to much of a purist to modify any of my collection (not even a brick built display lol) I recently made a wall mount for flight on the flying wing and I'm starting to take interest in making a display to feature minifigs, not too dissimilar from your 501st display.

Sands your MOCs are great but not super great either but it seems you are brick-constrained. I like the bigger versions of the figures compromises is an art in Lego in my opinion. I like making display cases out of Legos themselves I also like cramming stuff up as evidenced of my MOC "Evil Contained".
