That blaster mod is just brilliant! might try that some day. I did the same 'T' shape engine mod as you except i used the technic axle with stud (6587) instead of the flick missile (61184), is just in dark bluish gray though but looks nice.

This scale X-Wing is the closest LEGO has ever gotten to true minifig scale. Same with the downsized TIE. Both sets are a little below minifig scale, but it's still closer to 1:1 than all the previous system scale variants, which were more oversized than these were undersized. Hope that makes sense.

Indeed! I personally prefer this set over the UCS ones including the last one, because this playset is at a better minifig scale! I try to have everything at this scale for placing in MOCs or displaying next to each other.

R2d2 sits too proud. I dropped him down and pulled those later canon bits dishes forward. But love the other adjustments you done. Will have to do them. I got donated a load of bricks the other week over 7009 bricks and all sorts from loads of different kits. Make a snowspeeder and a atst do far!!

Step 1: Build Jerec's X Wing MOC Step 2: Throw this lego one in the parts bin.

Love this set. Pretty sure they made it specifically to mod LOL. Wonder what the next official version will be like now that they have thrown out the rubber bands. Hopefully they can cover the tecnic mechanism

I don’t know what Lego was thinking with having R2 stick out like a sore thumb. But at least modding the astromech slot would sink R2 down a bit.

veeery good video thank you! only problem with the ship is that the very front is a bit loosely connected imo, would love to see what you could come up with for that issue, i couldn't as the piece that would fix the 2x6 tile not connecting doesn't exist

By the way, I saw TommyCBrick's mods and he did a blaster mod, but he didn't make them larger. You could maybe try to do his method AND enlarge the blasters, since I don't have the set. I would love to see that.

It should be easy to find the pieces with the visual list at beginning. And there are common pieces, maybe you have them in your spare? I had.

Personnally I bought several boxes of mixed used legos, And I use the pieces in my MOCs and modifications, you can also order them on bricklink

Ich habe für die Waffen die Kerzen angenommen, die Stangen wie du gedreht aber als Spitze Lichtschwertgriffe verwendet. Außerdem habe ich die Nase mit 2x4 Flügeln verbreitert. Die Lücke zwischen r2 und dem Rumpf habe ich mit 1x2 Platten verschlossen, man kann ihn nicht mehr entnehmen aber es sieht besser aus.

The piece can rotate but the friction is high enough that it stays in place!

i compared several aspects and It was close between the 2018 and the 2021, and even with the mods for the 2021, the 2018 won!

This set honestly is the worst X-wing set of all, and like you said they are made to be cheap, but I prefer having structural strength then just looking thin and fast, I think they kinda skimped out on most of the details and structural integrity.
