I finally took the wheels off both my red wheels and the old black rusted one and put the red wheels on the black wheels axles ,cause the gears were really good(just needed a clean and a sand down on the rust of the axles to where the metal is nice, clean, and shiny).Going to test it out tomorrow then sell my 7730 to get a new one that I don't have to repair!!

I've got set 7740. The motor is missing, but I have got the white 12v lights with 3 holes. So do I need a motor with 3 holes as well?

And another thing- the red motor was opened and so would it be good to open it again to repair the motor??

Thanks, I hava a total of 5 red motors...

The problem for the Lego 7760 is probably cause I need to clean the rails and its contacts but for the red motor, I'm bumfuzzled

Not yet, first going to get 3 copies of the 12v '80s sets. The 3 sets with 3 different languages... already have two 7730's, two 7727's and two 7750's... Maybe for Christmas I'll do a 'vintage layout' under the Christmas Tree! When I have the time, because I have to go and get my Drivers Licence!! Merry Chrismas to you and your family!!!

Hello I have a question, I have 2 Lego train motor for 12v(black and red) and they are the first era. Well my problems are that my Lego black motor creates sparks as it runs and will periodically stop in places. My red motors problem is that it's motor make the sound that it runs but it doesn't move and it freewheels easily.if u could message me back about any way to find a way to fix them and make it to were it doesn't spark and were it would move. Thanks if u can figure out why this doesn't move and sparks.

+Ashton Kendall Hmm strange, think it is something with the worm wheels, I'm not sure tho. You need to open and replace one or both axles.

Also when u say alcohol, do u mean rubbing alcohol?

@Lego12vFan Just a question: I didn't understnad, the second and third generation of red motor came with what set? or where they coming as a replacement motor? In bricklink, the second generation is called bb12Va and the third one bb12Vb. Do you confirm?
