LEGENDS OF THE OLD WEST | Outlaws Ep1 - Sam Bass: “Indiana Cowboy”

Ойын-сауық

LEGENDS OF THE OLD WEST presented by Black Barrel Media. Sam Bass began life as a typical farm boy in the midwestern United States. But as he grew older, and experienced more than his fair share of family tragedy, he dreamed of becoming a Texas cowboy. After a detour through Mississippi, he made it to Texas and started living his dream. He experienced exactly one cattle drive to Kansas before he decided there must be easier ways to make money.

I lived in Round Rock in the 70s and 80s , they had a bunch of Sam Bass named places and businesses. During frontier days every summer they had a reenactment of his robbery and death. Been to his grave a couple of times.

@@CORPORAL-dn7nn Oh cool. Glad to know its still going on. Back when I first moved to Round Rock still had only one stoplight. Me and 2 older brothers lived there. They both married women from Round Rock. One of them worked at the HEB there for many years till he retired. I worked at Lees Body Shop for a few years after HS Graduation. I even lived at the Sam Bass apartments for a while, Im sure they are gone now. I moved away in 1988 as it got to be to congested for my taste. Wasnt the same small sleepy town it used to be.

Growing up in Montague County, I cannot remember all the details but Sam Bass was in bowie TX and was involved in either a robbery or a shooting on smokey row street in Bowie, does anyone know if this is true or happening in Bowie Texas
