Legends of Lancaster - Hans Graf Cemetery
Archived from 5/28/2019
Welcome back to “Legends of Lancaster,” sponsored by the Lancaster Barnstormers. This exclusive LancasterOnline video series goes in-depth into the lore and legends of Lancaster County. These mini-documentaries touch on everything from intriguing history, to colorful myths, to various tall tales that have been passed down through generations.
In this episode, videographer Tyler Huber takes a look at the Hans Graf Cemetery in Rowenna. Legend says this two-centuries-old cemetery is haunted by a werewolf or a ghostly canine. Nighttime visitors to the plot report hearing strange canine barking noises while some report witnessing a white canine among the graves. They say if you circle the cemetery wall seven times under a full moon, you won’t live to see morning.

I recently discovered that Hans Graf was one of my 8xGreat Grandfathers. I am unaware of any lycanthropy in more recent branches of the family.
Hans was an early settler of Lancaster County. Groffdale was named after Hans. He is buried in Groffdale Mennonite Church Cemetery. He is my 8th Great Grandfather as well.

My direct descendent also
I'm a big fan of the cryptid paranormal subject, and dogmen are know to be around old cemetery's.
Hans Graf is my 8th great grandfather. We do have a husky and occasionally like to howl with her and our other dogs. I haven't seen any other evidence of any of us turning into a wolf during a full moon, but will let you all know if that changes. 😉

@@davidgroff3355 Hey cousin! 😉 My 7th great Grandfather was his son Hans Johnathan. We have records that say he changed his last name to Grove for some reason, and inturn his son George was my 6th gg.
Hans was my direct descendent, I actually have a family tree that was done in early 1960s that has my name on it, any one else?
