In which case, the Royal Rumbles are the amongst the moments that take regular superstars and make legends based off of their performances with the 2009 replay edition being no exception. Once more, we had a match featuring thirty competitors, among them are competitors who just submitted their place into the champions’ rumble yet are still looking for a possible advantage going into the finals. This would mark as one of the few rumbles with the least number of competitors taking out the majority of the competition one after another. And within this small handful of impressive athletes, only ‘one’ would stand with a reputation of being a ‘Legend Killer’… Randal Keith Orton a.k.a. Randy Orton…how would his career have been different if he ‘won’ his WrestleMania match? I ask this question faithful viewers because as of this point of the season Randy Orton is one of the rare few winners to score a repeat performance from his actual event. As we recall, Randy Orton would face a ghost-from-his-past in Triple H, who was the reigning WWE Champion at that point of his career. While in the actual event, Triple H won against his former Evolution buddy despite all the stipulations stacked against him. Whether Randy was going in as the favorite or not, a victory against the man who’d eventually lead the WWE in a new era would’ve been one of the biggest performances for a man considered one of the greatest professional athletes in wrestling history. But who was my MVP of this replay 2009 rumble? Let’s get down to the numbers: Of the thirty superstars featured in this match, only NINE competitors secured the most eliminations. The highest count of the night reached an impressive ‘12’ eliminations, which is eleven points higher than the average ‘1’ elimination. Since Randy Orton is the winner, I have to give the Golden MVP Award for ‘coolest’ performance to: Triple H Although we skipped the 2008 rumble, it should be worth noting that Triple H was the winner of that replay rumble (Which I wrote the stats for in the comments which you can find in the link on Ricky’s post). Anyways… while it’s true Triple H lost this match, he did hold his own rather nicely during this event and had he won he could’ve possibly secured a key advantage going into the champions’ rumble. Still, if Triple H wants to win the final rumble of the season he’s got to really step up his ‘game’. The nominees for the Dull Participation Medal for ‘lamest’ performance are: Chris Jericho The Undertaker Shelton Benjamin Kane Dolph Ziggler Santino Marella This is quite a bigger number of nominees than usual, all of whom were eliminated before they truly had the chance to prove themselves. On one hand, I can just easily give the medal to the star who fell in the ‘F’ category just to further demonstrate how bad they are. But then again, I had to carefully watch how each of these competitors performed during the very brief time they had on the show. Since Santino actually scored an elimination, that leaves the other five stars remaining. And as far as who left the ‘fastest’… once again, the medal goes to Kane. Again, not a great look for the supposed ‘Big Red Machine’ which makes me worry about his chances during the remainder of the season. With arguably the most impressive elimination count out of any winner, ‘The Viper’ Randy Orton will be ready to deliver the venomous strike to all the champions before and after him to win this classic rumble season. As the numbers are drastically reduced, we ask the following questions: Who did YOU want to win the 2009 rumble? Had it not been for the Big Show, could the Undertaker have stood a chance of winning that year? Can we expect another repeat winner during the following classic rumble match? I was in attendance for the 2009 Rumble. When you go into the Joe Louis arena, they only have a few doors to let people in. Well, it was about 5 degrees that day and thousands of people were all pushing and shoving to get in before frostbite set in. It was a "Rumble", before the Rumble. RVD always gets a pop in MIchigan as he is from Battle Creek, MI. I was on the floor seats, back near the ring entrance area. During the Rumble match, I noticed that Pat Paterson was standing under the bleachers, quietly watching the match he created.

Wow, this must be the first team we've someone come in lower than 20 win one this season! This season has been great but the lack of surprise when people are coming in along with the fact that most the stronger guys are coming in near the end, making it very hard for a shock winner, has made it a bit samey. You kind of reach a point where you just expect one of the final five to win. That's why I think we need to go back to Random Rumbles. You want to see an absolute powerhouse like Orton, Mumra, He-Man, the Invincible Baby etc. fight their way to victory!

Man this was the best performance in your channel as far as Rumbles go, Randy Orton really deserved that and his rko elimination was epic. The Big Show looked horrible, like he had white powder on his forehead. I don't think he is in the game because he is signed with AEW. Of course the Undertaker gets eliminated by Ted DiBiase Jr now Undertaker has one more rumble left 😢 Also you JR impression was hilarious and on point.

Would love to see the heart foundation in a survivor series match vs the bloodline. Guys like the rock, yokozuna etc…

Ricky, not sure if you know but in the audio volume menu there is a thing called creator safe mode. I believe it shuts off the music so you won't get the KZread copyright strikes. Congratulations to the winner. I would like to see a season 11 with more random Rumbles or as a Tag Team Rumbles. Keep up the amazing work.

Very good idea for ramp camera view...Makes it POP! I'd also remove the player meters for that extra sense of realism...but that's just me. BTW I think the team you were thinking of with DiBiase Jr Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton was 'The Legacy'

Great final three! Randy was a beast all the way through, deserved the win. Weak show by Miz, but he's had his share of those in Rumbles. He takes the next two off (defending US title v. MVP in 2010, defending WWE title v. Orton in 2011), but 2012 is the Rumble where he (#1) and Cody (#4) pretty much run the show for most of the match. Be interested to see how that comes out here.

I was thinking in the future it would be cool to do WCW vs WWF royal rumbles. Try to get 15 winners from each side, to have a championship. WCW would have the big names, Sting, Big Van Vader, Rick Rude vs whoever in WWF there is so many people.

Yes, Santino was eliminated by Kane in the original Royal Rumble which was 30 seconds. Yes! Do an 11th season, try a tag team series, if there's enough teams? The made up characters is a good one. Since there is 30 rumbles for this season or whatever you were doing from the beginning. Start the 11th season with the remaining rumbles now that there was 40. Maybe bring back Marvel Heroes and D. C. Heroes. In this series how many women can enter in WK24? If more women can enter then try the intergender matches as part of the rumbles? The Jim Ross impression was really cool. Maybe try to commintate between both Macho (for the heels) and Jim Ross (For the baby faces). Sorta like what commentators do already? That would be a good skit?
