Errors made: 1. OoT Ganondorf taking the triforce sent the other 2 pieces to Link and Zelda, you make it sound like Ganondorf was incompetent and waited to beat Link and Zelda before taking the triforce 2. WW Ganonorf did not flood the land. He waged conquest and the people prayed for the Gods to save them, their response was flooding the land, sealing Ganondorf beneath the waves. 3. LTTP Ganondorf was sealed in an act of desperation after the society of hyrule was nearly genocided and was more ritualistic than a prayer. Also he was sealed by maidens, not sages.

While you're right about the first two errors they didn't really make any errors with the third one. Ganon and the Triforce were actually sealed by the seven sages shortly after Link's death. Years later Ganon returned and started the Imprisoning War and it was than that the events you descriped happened (though it actually was the seven sages of that era who sealed Ganon, not the maidens.The maidens were just descendants of these new sages).

+JustJulyo They are but they happen close apart so are considered as a packaged deal. It would barely affect the timeline whether or not it was Ages of Seasons first since none of the other games happened between the oracle games.

Majora's Mask? That game is real, it's just a minor sidequest. It happened AFTER Ocarina of Time, in the chronology where Zelda sent Link back as a kid when he defeated Ganondorf.

yet the first time link pulled the master sword out of its pedestal in the temple of time link was sent to the sages area n was asleep for 7 years and awoke after 7 years in the temple of time n if he wanted to travel back to when he was a kid 7 yrs ago right before he pulled out the sword he had to put the master sword back in its pedestal witch made him travel back in time to when he had 1st pulled the master sword out the song of time was to help in puzzles like the water temple n also fast travel to the temple of time if not on a time sqaure for a puzzle that used the song of time ex the water temples sqaures where u stood on them n used the song of time to raise n lower the water levels so no the ocarina never made link travel trough time ever that was the master sword in the time temple but the song of time did alter things around link but never link

No, you wrong. it was to seal him, not to kill him. They froze time in hyrule. You unfreeze time and unseal ganon when you take out the master sword in wind waker

Gotta love that Ganon-b-Gone spray though. Would make things SO much easier.

finally, this is just what I needed, the zelda timelines were a bit too much for me to handle without this handy video to figure things out.

Actually, it wasn't Ganondorf that flooded the land. You see, Ganondorf came back to Hyrule and Link wasn't there to stop them. After hearing the prayers from many hyrulians, the goddesses decided to flood the land of Hyrule so Ganondorf will never be able to find it and the Triforce, which ends up not working.

I love these 3 mins summary! Guys, if you wanna start another series which goes for 5 mins, would be great and thank you.

In the Adult timeline, Ganon was still sealed into the Sacred Realm after being defeated by Link, not under the earth. Some time after Link was sent back in time, Ganon escaped and tried to conquer Hyrule, but the goddesses intervened by flooding the kingdom, leading to _Wind Waker_.

Links awakening: After the events of windwaker link gets into a horrible shipwreck and is set adrift in the massive ocean clinging to a broken piece of the ship. Without food or fresh water Link starts to drift in and out of consciousness. While in a dreamlike state Link imagines himself on an island ruled by 2 powerful deities, one good known as the windfish and one bad known as "Dethi". Of course Dethi has overpowered the windfish and filled the land with evil creatures. Link then defeats Dethi and plays a few instruments including the ocarina of time to awaken himself from the dream... Only to find he is STILL adrift clinging to a scrap of wood in a gigantic ocean with no food or water... We assume link dies a very slow painful death after the game ends. 10 outa 10 would play again.

The actual child timeline starts with Majoras mask, then comes Twilight Princess, and then Four Swords Adventures. It is also heavily implied in Breath of the Wild that that game takes place in the child timeline. But we've yet to see a confirmation.

I mean it's nearly impossible to explain the entire timeline of The Legend of Zelda in 3 minutes. This is a summary of how it started and the path it takes. Because as we all know the timeline splits into 3 different paths, but no path truly ends. So this explains 2 games Skyward Sword and Ocarina of Time, it does very briefly cover Minish Cap and 4 Swords, stating how one man (Vaati) got greedy for power and wars happened, but for the most part peace (There was no Ganon). Because let's face it, the Era of Vaati, while relevant, is mostly just filler.

Nintendo trying to act like Zelda had any chronology at all was a mistake. I treat each zelda game like it's own story with the same points of interest. (Triforce, ganon, zelda, link, etc)

The video concept is good, the video itself.... not so good. The explanation of the three timeliness is off. We have Skyward sword, the minister cap, four swords, and then ocarina of time. The conclusion of OOT splits into 3 timleines. Each game is a reincarnation of the previous ancestors over time. (1) Link is sent back to his childhood, Gannon is sealed in TWILIGHT REALM. (Majoras mask, Twilight princess, four swords adventure) (2) Link doesn't exist, Ganon is sealed in SACRED REALM, Gannon escapes and conquers hyrule, in a last distance effort the goddesses flood the world, (Wind waker, phantom hourglass, spirit tracks.) (3) Link fails to win, Gannon conquers then after a huge war gets sealed in the SACRED REALM, (A Link to the past, Oracle series, links awakening, LOZ, Adventures of link) ALL games in order of timeline.

+Mummiedanser's Maps We're we even watching the same video? Gannon was never "sealed under the earth" nor did he "return and flood it 100's of 1,000's of years later." "Time" isn't why chrono 1 happened, the "zelda sending link back in time" mentioned in chrono 2 is. Gannon never "breaks the walls between the realm" he simply uses the triforce of power to open portals. Gannon never "obtains the whole triforce" it's actually impossible for him to do so, this is clear because every time he touches the damn thing it sends the other two pieces to link and zelda, he can't wield links piece either without trading his own. The triforce requires all three of them to be present to make the wish. If it didnt, Gannon would've destroyed life itself a very, very long time ago. This is kind of his intention with kidnapping zelda and trying to subdue link.... sense..... forever? lol Annnnnd the goddesses never "created a twilight realm just to put people who try to get the triforce" smfh...... It's part of their original creation of the world, it was created when they created the light. You can't have light without the lack thereof, and they left a mirror as a portal. They didn't seal him either, the spirits asked by the goddesses did..... Honestly, there's too many things wrong with this video, I don't have the time to keep writing.

Isn't the entire timeline, but is really cool. This should be: "The Legend Of Zelda's timeline in a nutshell."

It's pretty cool that you explained this timeline in 3 minutes, and I can accept some assumptions as some of the events in between games are unclear. However, some of these are completely false despite being clearly stated or shown in the games. Mainly, that Ganondorf did not flood Hyrule before WW the Goddesses did (in fact his wish on the Triforce was going to be to expose the the of Hyrule to the light once more, thus getting rid of the water so he could take it over.) Lastly one that could just be unclear due to simplification and a push for time, was that as you said Ganondorf kidnapped Zelda, the animation shows Zelda as a kid being taken, suggesting she was a kid when Ganondorf captured her which isn't true. Zelda got away with Impa when she was young and was kidnapped much later as an adult. The next scene, also shows Zelda as a kid during the final battle with Ganon. But honestly, the Zelda thing is a nitpick. Overall, I still really appreciate this video and think it gets a lot of information in such a short amount of time, it makes a good crash course. I know the Zelda timeline can be confusing to many and this video is a good way to explain it in a simple manner, and for that I can respect.
