In so many ways the Valkyrie was the anti-Gold Wing; no reverse; no cruise control; no stereo/entertainment. Just a souped-up, stripped-down, mean & lean cruising machine. Honda saw the potential with their signature Flat-6 motor and designed a platform with which to showcase that magnificent six cylinder. Adding authenticity to the Valkyrie was Honda's use of steel; front & rear fenders and also a genuine fuel tank w/petcock. How fitting that the aptly named Valkyrie, a mythological Norse angel, all this added up to a "halo" for the showroom floor! For me as I now embark on my 41st year of riding my one true ride is an American made 1998 Gold Wing Valkyrie by Honda. And everytime I ride it I can hear Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" playing in my head and feel as if I'm cruising onto Valhalla. Well done presentation and thanks for letting me comment.

I had a 99 for several years, great bike. 6 month trip LA to FL keys to Niagara Falls to Nova Scotia, Montreal, Quebec. Souls Ste Marie, Boston, Denver,back into Canada, Calvert,then home to Long Beach, Ca..Great ride, would love to do it again…

F6C (FLAT 6 CUSTOM), 3 MODELS = STANDARD, TOURER, INTERSTATE. ONLY THE 1500 GOLDWING ENGINE BLOCK USED, EVERYTHING ELSE IS UNIQUE TO THE VALKYRIE, AS THE DRIVE TRAIN WAS STRONGER THAN THE GOLDWINGS, THIS WAS 'BORROWED' & THE GOLDWING BENEFITTED FROM IT.

I have the same bike color and everything, bought it for $2000 had 5 thousand miles on it now has 90,000 been coast to coast every year with no problems at all just brakes tires oil change

Excellent video. Very instructive. I just purchased a 1999 Interstate with 24,000 miles and she is in fine shape. I had to travel 5 states away to purchase her. One question, can you advise as to how to remove the lower wind deflectors?
