I'm so grateful that even in the early 2000s the writer didn't gave Vivian an arc that wrote her off as Warner's villain fiance. She outgrows that plot point and has a real arc.

A 180 is a perfect score for the LSAT's. So, Elle getting 179 was near perfect. She's smarter than people gave her credit for because she's blond.

I don't think it's not just people not giving her enough credit. She's probably got a photographic memory. I love how the musical of this movie deepened the characters of Emmett and Vivian. Emmett with how they gave him more scenes with Elle and a way to show how different he is from Warner. And Vivian by seeing the slap!! So she stood up for her and encouraged her. I love it!!
@carlalussini
2 жыл бұрын
And even Warner, it is more clear in it that he actually loves his life with Elle (not her because he's a narcissist) and he has not been malevolently using her but more like his parents pressure him into becoming a serious lawyer, but he would honestly would have preferred to be a rich losangelino that doesn't do shit and hangs with his pretty and bubbly girlfriend that never challenges him. It's more tragic, thinking he also wants her back (even if for unhealthy, egotistical reasons) but he's too much of a coward to let go of societal expectations.
@Trash0Princesse

I love the musical but one aspect I don't like is that they sacrificed a crucial part of Elle's journey to give Emmett more to do. The whole 'Chip on your shoulder' sequence just doesn't live up to 'I'll show you how valuable Elle Woods can be'

Whenever I watch this movie I try to give Vivian the benefit of the doubt...like you don't get engaged out of nowhere which means Warner was likely cheating on both her and Elle, and I can't help but think her hatred for Elle might be because she found out that Warner was 'dicking around' and made some assumptions about the pretty blonde he was cheating with...still not great behaviour from her, but a little more understandable than randomly hating on some girl because she's high fem

So him graduating without honor is an afterthought for the audience and Elle. We have moved on. Why should we care about him? Whatever happens to him, whatever he becomes is whatever

Also as a hairstylist, I always think of this movie between how a perm would break down in your hair if it got wet but also because of the bend and snap. I personally haven’t used it but look at the benefits. After all, it works every time
This movie was described by ‘The Take’ (a brilliant video essay channel) as a “watershed moment” and I couldn’t agree more. It was a definitive movie for the girls, gays and theys. (Although Enid Wexler as a Queer/Queercoded character could’ve been written better)
I love this movie because it celebrates women's friendships with each other and showcases different kinds of friendships, and the main character never stoops to the level of the villains even at her most desperate (like Cady's arc in Mean Girls). While some of the humor and that "he's gay!' jump in logic doesn't hold up 20 years later, Elle Woods is still a woman that girls can look up to, and that's saying something.
This video made me realize the love interest from legally blond is Owen Wilson’s brother but oh my god they look alike and sound alike
Legally Blonde is literally one of my favorite movies and I'll never get tired of watching it. Elle made me want to become a lawyer so bad! She was kind, badass, great fashion, trustworthy and had all the qualities of a great lawyer.

"my dog stepped on a bee" was HILARIOUS
not the “do you think jennifer coolidge knew she was filming this” 😭😂
Actually Yale Law and Stanford rates over Harvard Law. Christina Applegate was offered the role of Elle Woods but turned it down since she played the dumb blonde in Married…with Children and did not want to be typecast. In the book, the law school was Stanford(where Reece went to school for real)not Harvard which producers tried to film but Stanford said no so Harvard was second choice to film. David Kidney is actually the son of the late Anthony Perkins(Psycho) Selma Blair is now going through MS but hopes to be in Legally Blonde 3. Although a great scene, Elle was not a lawyer when Paulette got her dog back so that was fraudulent representation since she had not finished school or taken the BAR and passed yet. The woman at the spa is Raquel Welch both a famous model and actress.
The only thing greater than commentary to legally blonde 1&2 is commentary on the musical as Benji sings along 🙏🏾😊
