well there is news blood omnicide worked on a blood omen remake contacted square or crystal no response so the blood omen remake might not see the day of light , but another blood omen remake is in development by another person and has spoken to someone from square enix and has got the approval to make the fan made blood omen game

The new blood omen remake has essentially chatted to the se indie game head and established the legal framework they can work within: ie as long as there is no money changing hands then se won't cease and desist them on it and they'll be free to develop - blood omnicide (and a number of other fan projects) also did this years ago. What omnicide actually did a little while back was to formally pitch the game to se for financial backing to move forward and officially develop (as se has been inviting indie studios to do). It fell through so they're stuck in limbo and the project has ground to a halt.

@@Slixer Many people hate how fighting works in Soul Reaver 1, I personally love it.

Back then, one guy at my school spread a rumor that if you complete the game 100%, you get to fight Kain at the end and see the real ending. So I thought I was missing something and that it must be Turel, since he has an area and offspring like all the other bosses do, but no appearance. I didn't even question his claims, I was clearly missing Turel. Then I bought the official guide book (pre-mainstream-internet days), just to find out that I already had 100% and just wasted 10 bucks. When I saw the Thumbnail to this video, I instantly got mild PTSD.

I KNEW THAT DAMN LEDGE NEAR THE FINAL CAVE WAS TOO BIG TO NOT HAVE SOME SORT OF TUNNEL GOING ON!

I can not believe it. In my life I always had 2 dreams. 1 watch pink floyd in live (which I did last year) and see all the material removed from soul reaver. I can not believe it. Really. Extremely grateful! Greetings from Argentina

The interesting world, characters, voice acting and atmosphere are outstanding in this game. Seeing that some content was removed due to certain reasons is sad, but seeing the fanbase trying to dig out what was buried is really epic. Even though it is a old game, it still has impact on people and brings them together. I really hope that someday, the game will be remade with today technology. Of course that can be hard due to fairly obvious reasons.

Ever since I played the series I always wanted to know what Turel would have looked like in Soul Reaver but since it was cut I thought it was all lost but seeing what you guys have done to bring back so much that was once lost brings legit happiness to know that the community for this game still exists stronger than ever. The Turel Clan Territory has always been on my want-to-see list since you can see Turel's territory in the intro but since time constraints caused it to be cut entirely I cannot wait to see what you guys reveal. Thank you for your hard work :)

I was always interested in how you would journey to Turels area. I think there was a collection of ledges and pathways in the Ash City that would have led there.

@@timmyturner5951 I thought Turel's Territory cuts through the only human city left in Nosgoth and then you go on from there as you would fight the Spectral Feeder Turelim and gained Raziel's weaker form of telekinesis and once you defeated Dumah you would've been able to go into smog making machine where Turel waited

IIRC, Amy Hennig told me once that the cadence and style of the Soul Reaver dialogue was based in part on T. S. Eliot's poetry.

It was a blessing in disguise when Soul Reaver got a large chunk of its content cut since we got so many sequels in return, but at the same time I wish we had a remake of Soul Reaver with all of its cut content restored. Can't wait to see it!

I disagree I didn't really care for the plot choices of the sequels. The original vision for Soul Reaver had you righting Kain's wrongs. I wish it had kept to that. I thought soul reaver 2's how dare you kill vampires human plot line was just really cliche.

@@thomasfrazer8934 I know, right? especially since it was never discussed whether the humans were willingly being turned into vampires or if the vampires were forcing the chane onto the humans. At least not until Defiance, where we learn that the humans were totally in the right when they were killing the vampires

I remember when I found that footage of the Turel clan on an obscure European demo CD and told Ben the news that even yielded an article on TLW. I believed at that time that this discovery might become the latest news about the game's cut content. I feel thrilled, thanks Ben.

I can't believe I'm getting legacy of Kain content in 2020... This is just what I needed after René (rest in peace)

My dream is come true. i thought i'm gonna die on this life and never see this with my eyes. The most excitment part it's the release of this to the public. Please, make this possible, i wish to play the original game with all of this, even if this contains bugs. THIS CURES MY DEPRESSION.

this is modern archeology... similar how people dig up bones of dinosaurs and try to piece together the puzzle on how dinosaurs looked.

In every possible language: Oh my... "Soul Reaver" changed my preference in games, along with "Gothic", as well as rekindled my love to medieval- fantasy. Those are 2 games, that, in certain way, made a big portion of who i am today "Legacy of Kain" actually taught me english... I always wanted to see cut content for those two... "Gothic" i already saw few months back... I can only pray someone will do same thing with it, as Miss Raina Does with "Soul Revenant". But while i am waiting... This popped up. I have no words that are happy and obscene enough to explain my feelings right now :)

Wow, right in the feels. This game is so special to me, this is my childhood and watching this brings back lots of memories and emotions. This is the kind of thing that could make me cry. Now even though you confirmed it was real, at this point it just seems too massive to be true. Thank you!

This almost feels like a Dream to the Nightmare of the things like the Gate Above the Human city tunnel by the abyss, that was there taunting you as a kid or when ever you first played the game contempt on trying to reach it, as it made you think there was something up there but you could not reach it which made you feel like you were missing something, now that nightmare along with a few other areas with stuff like it can finally be put at ease. This is awesome and Thank you all for your dedication on trying to find ever thing about this removed stuff and never giving up.

I still remembered visiting The Lost Worlds when I was still in school. I always was on track for updates on the ominous areas in Soul Reaver 1 that seemed out of place, or other hidden content in the other games. Seeing this is a great thing and a final closure on the last final mystery of the Legacy of Kain Series.

Through these trying times I came back to this and once again and it still amazes me. The love and care brought into this project I feel that the payoff will be well worth it. I hope you and the team are taking it easy and staying safe in amidst the panic. It would be a shame to lose any of you lovely people to the abyss. Stay safe and healthy so that we can share the moment it all comes together. Much love to you all.

I don't think I've been this excited about something in years. Thank you for the great news. I'm looking forward to seeing more!

I remember being 8 and finding all kinds of areas while looking for where the powers and abilities i got from cheats were /supposed/ to come from. I found dead ends, new territories that didn't seem to have purpose, and numerous hints at what was supposed to be there. I found a few things, but most of exploration yielded little in the way of what i actually set out to find. I left with questions of what might have been. Now, after all these years i may, finally, see what was meant to be.

I'm glad Legacy of Kain is aging like a fine wine. Everytime I replay this series I find something new in the environment or I pick up on a small detail in the story that I never noticed before. If Square Enix knew better they'd start working on the remake of L.O.K. before the voice actors get too old and lose their iconic voices.

The video game industry had destroyed me... and yet, I lived.

Bloody hell Ben, good to see your still at it. The Legacy of Kain series is still my all time favourite. Went I first got an internet back in 2001 - 2002 I spent so much time on the lost worlds. I was on Nosgothic Realm and the time streamer forums for years (Nobody, WorldwideNobody and Noesph), but alas, there all closed now.

OMFG, after all this years, I though I have hear it all (The cut content dialogue), but now we shall see it with our very own eyes and not just our imaginations! Turel looks sick af. As mounstrous as Zephon, and as intimidating as Dumah. My childhood would have been plagued with nightmares.

Nice return Ben, I'm ALX the little guy who translated LoK: Defiance into Portuguese using your Soul Spiral hehe! LoK needs a Remake keeping the same gameplay style and continuing the story, I feel that Kain has too much Hylden to hunt!

Even a hint of cut content that could even be dreamed up to somehow reinstate into the original game...almost sounds...like...an omen of sorts. The anticipation the world over must seem....vicious...blood thristy even. I remember how much cooler soul sucking animation from '98 PSX demo looked like. Can't blame them for ditching the idea tho, the entire game was slowing down to sub 20 fps on psx while you were using it
