There's probably going to be entirely different "tiers" for characters depending on if they're in Heat or not. Jun will obviously see some changes over the course of T8's life, but I just hope she doesn't become Kazumi 2.0 where they find stuff on her to nerf for no reason. Speaking as a Kazumi main who's excited for Jun.

Tier lists for fighting games have always included how well the character performs with the mechanics of their game. It wouldn’t even make sense to say that one character is S tier with heat and B tier without if there wasn’t a mode where players can play without heat.

Easy characters with no execution have to get nerfed if they do a hard character's job with ease. Kazumi and Noctis nerfs have always been reasonable

@@josetojoestar7533 Kazumi's df1 getting it's range nerfed made sense because it never should've had that much to begin with, but there was no need to nerf her db4 to the point where it doesn't do anything on counter hit.

@@melvinshine9841gotta say I agree and disagree at the same time; her db4 getting a free d2 on counter was pretty unfair (I think it lasted til the end of S1 or S2) but yeah, it’s certainly ridiculous when it’s suddenly worse than that of Kazuya’s, losing its big + frame stagger on counter. Still, she got quite some good moves like stance 3+4 and wr1, so I won’t call her ‘ruined’. Her tier relatively did go lower as time went on, but I think that’s due to the rise of other crazy strong characters (2D chrs, S3 Leroy&Fahk, Lidia before nerf, Feng, etc.), rather than the game nerfing her to oblivion or something

Finally potential for Jun to be a viable tournament character, still won’t hold my breath though - she will probably be nerfed.

Her power crushes are strong, she sacrifices health for best moves and her mind games are strong too. If they do nerfed her, it probably wont be her lows cuz she doesn’t have a quick 12f low. What I guessing is a nerf to her punishment by adding 1-3 frames. Anything else, they’d have to take away moves. Hopefully, they don’t give her the kazumi or dragonov treatment.

(Tekken nerd here)Jun has been pretty strong since Tag2. Genjitsu Stance can parry throws for (50 dmg) up to -11.....That's A LOT of frames to be minus. For reference Anna Chaos Judgement parries throws for (25 dmg) but only up to -4. For those curious few, every low parrying stances needs a window of 2 frames to activate. Armor kings low parry is the only exception to this; his is the only one to be done from crouching and needs 1 frame to activate. Alisa also has a universal high parry reversal that parries EVERY high attack and throws. And since it's a generic b1+3/b+24 , she has the strongest throw parry because being at a moderate frame disadvantage increases the parry window. The only time this isnt true is if a move causes guard frames on hit such as Kazuyas df1,4; in this case the only thing your character can do is block or duck because that's how its programmed. (Ironically, Alisa's head throw, Kuma bears stance grab and Eddy's negativa stance throws can't be parried by anything, and YES since it's a throw it Lerots/Jim's parry will not work against it.) I assume that every low parry stance that had the bound effect(because they dont do dmg) will be changed as well since there is no strong benefit to using it over a universal low parry. These are: Armor king d2+3 or 1+4 Kuma/Panda bear stance(hold forward) The only stances that parries weapons are Negan and Leroy and Lei. However Ganryus roll over move(idk what its called or the input) is the only move that cant be low parried period...another hard read. Lei, Asuka, Leroy, and Anna(Negan wont be returning most likely) all have launching low parry stances, so they will be kept as is. However, Anna's CJM is the only one that can be interrupted if the the low attack has a faster follow up faster than 12 frames. (The rest of the cast on that list have total invincibility status, while Anna's invincibility only lasts until she raises her leg off of the ground.) All this to is to say that Juns normal parry and Genjitsu stance mixed with her new life regaining Mirai stance will be even stronger than is was in Tag2.

She's quite strong in this game.

Wait a damn minute, if fc 1 is i10, does it mean its the go to punisher for blocked lows at least up until -12? Or the range is too short? I know for she has ws 2,1 for -13 ws punish

Out of the 16 already announced she's the only one I like. The rest I either hate (Bryan, Lili, Asuka, King, Jack) or they're not my type (Leroy, Claudio, Nina) or I don't like how they play (Xiaoyu, Lars, etc.) so unless they announce Anna, Zafina or Kuni she's my backup (I'm gonna give her a go anyway even if they are announced as she was one of my Tekken 2 characters back in the day when I was mashing buttons vs friends and it might be my only opportunity to play her). She looks pretty cool, doesn't have Asuka's personality (big plus for me) etc. I just hope I won't end up killing myself constantly by depleting my own health and then dying in 1-2 hits. :D It's funny though: Tekken, which is the game I like the gameplay (and the level of customization) the most so far has the least amount of characters I want whereas much smaller roster games like SF6 (which had 4 at launch with Cammy, Juri, Kimberly and Chun Li which I'm playing right now) aaaand MK1 (which already announced 4 outworld/edenian ladies for me to try out, maybe we'll get Jade too, one can dream) have way more characters I like.

I can only go off of my tag 2 knowledge but she only has a hellsweep during her Izumo stance.

Asuka is better and easier to use her back 3 move is better and she plays just like Tekken 7 plus Tekken 8 combos are way easier to do now

Asuka by far, Asuka is like a easier simpler Jun. A lot of Juns moves feel punishable, especially launchers
