wow the ocean race started today? :O Did you guys stop with the press/promotion or something? There has been nothing in any of the national news outlets in advance to this. I came across this youtube update accidently!

love the way half the boats still look like their old 2017-18 counterparts- wind whisperer is Mapfre, genoa is Vestas, mex is scallywag- I feel like we might be in the shadow of something...

Nicely edited, especially since it was done and posted so quickly! I wish the tracker would also show the VO65s, not just the IMOCAs, but I guess resources are limited and the newer boats are the focus this time. We're used to the Ocean Race with open boats and so much visible on deck - I wonder if the below-deck action of the IMOCAs will be as exciting for fans to watch? Time will tell! God speed JAJO and Ambersail! EDIT: I just saw the toggle function on the tracker - yay! - and loving the way we can focus on particular boats: a sure improvement from last time!

Doesn’t the tracker on the website show both? You just have to toggle between fleets, but it shows both for me.

Yep switch tabs on bottom of the tracker. Surprising how close the VO65 and IMOCAs are right now.

would be cool to see the imocas and vo65 start togheter, even if the speeds aren't the same

Will there be a leg documentary show for this season?

There is a documentary series produced by Warner Bros Discovery, it is broadcasted on Eurosport and on their digital platforms.

Thought there would be a more fans watching the race doesn't seem nearly as popular as it did in previous editions

It's been a really long time since the last edition. I think it may have fallen off some people's radar.

I am a bit disappointed that we can't watch the start of legs live.

Coverage of the race is extremely bad compared to previous years. No live start for the legs, bad quality video, no updates and if it wasnt for me putting it in my calendar i wouldnt even have known it started today. Its the biggest sailing event in the world and they stopped promoting it quite a while ago. Do better or even more fans will be lost.

Sam is doing a great job commentating, and is a master of the sport. Commentating is not an easy job, especially for a sport as technical as sailing. Nobody is forcing you to watch, so enjoy the show and try not to be overly critical of people trying their best.

Why no boat speed ??????????????????
