The other night at my blackjack table I started singing along when this came on the sound system. Back the time the first chorus came in the whole table was singing with me. A man from India, a young Chinese dude and his girlfriend, a black man from Atlanta, and a white lady from Chattanooga. I’m from Denver and John Denver was my first crush at 7. That song transcends everything from age to demographics, to the country you may have been raised in. It is a timeless masterpiece, like Ode to Joy.
