    You forgot one that confuses people to is a green arrow. A solid green and a green arrow are two different things. A solid green is a yield like you said yield to traffic and pedestrians. But a green arrow means you can go first everyone else waits. That also confuses people

    With this video and with this comment, I think these points to be made clear for a safe left turn: Oncoming traffic who wants to take a right has the right of way. So when you are at an intersection waiting to take left at a Green light: 1. Let pedestrians pass, it's their right of way when pedestrian light is activated. 2. Let oncoming traffic pass straight. 3. Let oncoming traffic pass their right (their right of way). 4. Don't keep on waiting for left turn at green light if the oncoming traffic is at far or there are no pedestrian who intend to cross your way. 5. When the light turns, Yellow/amber/ Red and if you have already claimed the intersection, you can complete your left turn because it's now your right of way. 6. Always do the shoulder check just before the left turn for blind spot and go slow and be vigilant to check if any cyclist or pedestrian may come from no where. 7. When it is green left arrow, you have your right of way, yet be very careful to check if any pedestrian 🚷 comes in your way. We should be vigilant enough to save life. Safety is the priority. Always go slow while turning so that the vehicles from behind is also slow and will be able to break in an emergency. If anyone wants to add, please add it here if I have missed any important point please 🙏

    @@deepalijain803 just wanna say you made a good point but when turning left on a yield green some places use yield yellow. One car must enter the intersection at a time and wait with their turn signal on and tires pointed straight incase they get rear ended don’t wanna be pushed in to on coming traffic. The reason one car should enter at a time is incase the light turns red why’ll your waiting to turn if that happens since you entered legal for your turn everyone else must wait until you clear the intersection. If there is more then on car in the intersection it becomes dangerous. So if your the second car in line hang back behind the stop line until the car in front of you makes its turn.

    When you can't use the back triangle window, you should align your car with the car you're trying to parallel park with's rear lights. Once you can see the lights, from there you just turn your wheel all the way to the left and reverse until you're in the spot.

    Slightly irresponsible advice. If your light is green never assume that 'other' fast moving lanes is red and cars will stop, there are hundreds who wants to 'beat' red lights and will actually accelerate at the lights. These are ALL human designed features gadgets and implements on the road and as such are liable to fail when least expected. When you are on the road whether in car or walking YOUR life is at stake so you have to be extra carefull

    For test purposes, would you please clarify when is it ok to make the turn in term of pedestrians? For instance, I'm turning left and a pedestrian just started crossing (is on the far left), do I wait until they are all there way on the other side even though they are not close to the lane I'm turning to? Also, when turning right, if I see a pedestrian on the other far side of the road coming towards my direction but is not midway or close to the lane I'm turning yet - do I wait for them to reach this side of the island before I turn?

    Great video, but I found your initial advice a little concerning. How can you say that if you see vehicles approaching from your left and right at a high speed, not to worry about them? General rule, you should check your left and right to make sure everyone is stopping before you go just like when you’re walking across.

    you should wait until the pedestrian has passed at least half the crosswalk, if he is walking towards your direction always assume its his/her right of way. once you have determined it is clear, you need to move up a bit so you can clearly see oncoming traffic and then you can make you turn.

    The rule is you enter the intersection and wait until traffic passes also look if any one is crossing usually once they cross your path and it’s clear in your lane then you go. You don’t have to wait until the pedestrian completely finishes crossing but you do have to wait until they pass by your car

    i think saying its safe to assume someone is going to stop is a mistake. if you watch any vids about accidents some of the worst ones come from people getting t-boned turning left probably assuming someone was going to stop...never assume anything. traffic lights can have timing issues...or maybe its snowy and there are hills...also sometimes you think it will turn red but turns green again when the numbers are counting down with supposed smart traffic lights so always pay attention to everything.

    You forgot the most important part if you’re making a left turn and the guy across from you was making a left turn what do you do do you turn left and he turns left at the same time? Or do you pull forward and wait for him to signal for you to turn left. Which means he passes you on your left if he decides to go straight and then you turn

  • @thyomnipotentotter8383

    @thyomnipotentotter8383

    3 жыл бұрын

    not sure if you got an answer for this but yes you are able to turn at the same time since there is enough room provided in the intersection for 2 cars to turn. Also if this situation happens where 2 cars want to turn at the same time, be careful since the opposite car may be blocking the view of oncoming traffic so its safe to just be patient until youre sure its safe to go.

    the only reason that I could think of if 2 cars that want to turn left collided is if they didnt even turn and just went straight ahead. If this happens it just means its their fault and they shouldnt even be driving

    Wow! You should ALWAYS worry about that fast moving car coming up to an intersections, red light or not! I am sick of cutting people out of cars that thought all cars, by mistake or not, run lights or signals. That also applies to turn signals. It is mostly the newer drivers that tell me that "they had their turn signal on" or " I seen them but I had the green light". Poor advice to actually say to not pay attention to the other vehicles.

  • @romz11khan

    @romz11khan

    yours and theirs. depending on how far the car was if it was close to you, you should've waited even if they were in the opposite lane cause you never know when they'll change their mind or how close they could be and that's exactly what happened in your case. best bet would have been to let the right car go and then you make your turn even if you're already more than halfway in the intersection. you should've assumed it was his/her right of way because almost always cars going from the right are only concerned with the ones coming from their left which is again why you should've waited.
