Watching some of these games when Man U was in its pomp, there are three things that are really striking. The first is the names of such very gifted players - Giggs, Kanchelskis, Cantona, Beckham, Butt, Scholes, Neville, Irwin, Cole, Ince etc.The second is the pairings at the heart of defence - Bruce/Pallister, Ferdinand/Vidic, Brown/O’Shea. Finally, there is the amazing work ethic. The players hunt down every ball when the opposition is in possession. When Man U is in possession every player makes space for a pass. If they lose possession they get back so fast the opposition is closed down. Oh for such glory days again. And oh for such names.

Cruyff was so underated, plagued by injuries but still carved out a solid career 👍
