Great selections and footage John. Being from Leeds originally, I get back now and again and also spotted a few of my mates who are sellers at the fair! Need to get up to Newcastle next!

Hey! Thanks for commenting. I’d only been up to Leeds since nice before. A few of us met up for the fair 4 or 5 years ago. I think Leeds is great for records. Unfortunately my pockets weren’t deep enough to pick up all the nice records that I saw there. Cheers! John

Hey John, nice selections at the fare, I have those two double Country Funk albums. They’re really great tunes on both of them. I bought them at the beginning of the vinyl resurgence in 2012 here in the states.

Hi Frank. Yeah, the Country Funk comps are great. I have the first two on CD. There is a third volume, featuring late 70’s/early 80’s stuff. Gotta keep an eye out for it 👍

I think I forgot to ask Martin if you guys went to Crash. What a killer meetup John. I would have been honored to hang and dig with you all. One of these days I am going to visit that great country of yours. Speaking of country. Where you overall happy with the Link Wray album? I was a bit let down. I hate to use the word overrated. Because everyone has a different appreciation for every album that was ever released. I was expecting a little more guitar I guess. I really dug the stuff from the sixties that he did with the Raymen. That poster from 6:07 would have been a nice addition to my music room. To anyone's music room. 8:06 classic photo. The Transpennine record fairs. I used to find myself in Hull, Manchester and Leeds quite a lot back then. Good times.

Oh man, I used to absolutely rinse those Mystic Brew Comps the Qball & Curt Cazel track is an absolute neck snapper, I’ve got a Spanky Wilson version of ‘Sunshine Of Your Love’ on one volume. Absolute dance-floor mayhem guaranteed. That Crash Records looks incredible. Glad you had a great time.I would love that Ray Barreto comp, I’m a big fan.

Hi Harris. I didn’t know the Mystic Brew comps but they’re ace. The Spanky Wilson cover was the only track on them that I already owned. Everything else was an education 👍 We’ll have to arrange a meet up further south later in the year. A Saturday record fair in Reading or Bristol would do the job.

Cheers John. Apparently we shouldn’t use this old PVC sleeves anymore as they’re meant to damage the record cover. They seemed to be doing a good enough job in that shop though!

The Message Dubwise, not going to run across that any old day...yeah the Abyssinians split after that Arise LP, later reforming with various lineups over the years and recording further latter day albums. Zimbabwe Dread is quite a nice DJ LP, got it on CD. That tune on the mix CD at the end sounds familiar, I think I've got Brazilian singer Roberto Carlos doing a version of it - not sure which might have come first. Song called Jesus Christo if it's the same one. Looks like a grand day, cheers!
