The most dominant and feared power hitter of the 1990s in the American League! This dude had pitchers terrified! He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame despite retiring prematurely due to an injury. Belle had some spectacular seasons in the 90s!!

We went to a regular season game in 1995 , it was extra innings, i thing the 13th, they were getting ready to call the game because of the 1 o clock curfew, albert belle was having a record breaking season, and he was the first hitter coming up with time running out..back then the indians players all had a selected song that would blast from the pa system, alberts song was hells bells by AC/DC, the into to that song was playing as he wet through his patented routine in the batters box, as he headed towards homeplate walking casually, the lyrics start blasting, the soldout croud was going insane, we knew he would hit a homerun, the 1st pitch he hit 400 ft to left field, on that beautiful summer night in 1995, we all wished we were albert belle, thats my favorite baseball memory, that was an allstar team we had back then, the good old days😂

My all-time favorite Cleveland player. I honest cried when he left. I heard this live in my bedroom as a 15 year old in Indianapolis. 1100am STILL comes in most nights here, believe it or not!!! The pitch came in then it was pure static for what felt like a lifetime then *"GRAND SLAM!!!"* before it cut out again. My big brother and I were going nuts. God I loved #8

Me too. The '95 Indians were my all time favorite Indians team. They were robbed of a World Series win by horrible umpiring that gave the Braves pitchers a crazy wide strike zone (as if they needed the extra help). Also, Belle was robbed of the AL MVP that year because the baseball writers didn't like him. To this day, its still my favorite lineup: Lofton, Baerga, Thome, Belle, Ramirez. What a murders row!

Albert belle really studied all the pitchers, he kept records of each pitcher and what they'd throw him in certain counts, he did have a degree in accounting along with his twin brother, from LSU, his temper and contempt for the media kept him out of the hall of fame..

I agree that and longevity Albert got injured a lot especially after he left CLE this is the reason he will never get in the HOF Baseball isn't the nba (T-Mac & Yao) or the NFL (Terrell Davis ) where u only have to play 4 or 5 good years then ur fine u may get in

I think the fact that his career getting cut short in 2000 really hurt his HOF chances more. He had bad hips and after 2 years White Sox in 1997-98, he had one good year in Baltimore in '99 then never close to the same. Went to Baltimore in and barely played, Retired in 2000. So his peak playing years were only 1993-99. Not really long enough to put together a hall of fame career, even though his numbers did. If he'd have played another 5 years at that level there's absolutely no question he'd have been an hof player.

Just a small correction: It's Jacobs Field, not Cleveland Stadium. Cleveland Stadium was where the Indians played from 1947-1993, and was torn down after the Browns went on hiatus in 1996. And Albert Belle is still, to this day, my all-time favorite Cleveland Indian in my lifetime. I'm 46. After all the really good teams we've had over the years, no one was as monstrous of a hitter as Albert Belle. If his hips didn't give out starting in 1998 he'd be a first ballot hall-of-famer.
