Lee Remick on "What's My Line?"

Ойын-сауық

I want that dress! She was starring in "Wait Until Dark'" on Broadway at the time. Larry Blyden and Jayne Meadows join the panel.

As a star-struck teen I met Lee Remick at the New York premiere of The Hallelujah Trail at Loew's Capitol theater. Before the film started I saw her go into the ladies room. I waited for her to exit and then asked her to sign my program, which she was nice enough to do. Several years later, I got to see her in Wait Until Dark and, like many other fans, waited for her to exit the theater after the show. Once again she was nice enough to sign my Playbill. I still have both after all these years.

Hard to believe Ms. Remick has been gone for so long now. The stars of yesteryear had so much more grace, dignity and regal beauty than the so-called "stars" of today...

i'll never forget her and the rest of that professional cast in Experiment In Terror. As a not quite 10 year old I went to the movie with my sister thinking it would be a comedy because Glenn Ford was the star. It was of the days of twin bills. So, maybe it was playing as the second movie that was the throw-in. I went home scared for days.

I worked at a cinema in Beverly Hills I was 18. Lee Remick was a regular. I talked to customers through a microphone, sometimes I would talk, it would'nt work and then a horrible loud feedback .On this day Lee came up to buy 2 tickets. And when I tried to speak to Lee the mic jamed. Lee put her ear up to the speaker and then it came back on sending feedback blasted in her ear. She was very upset w/me like it was on purpose. I thought she was very beautiful in person and she was classy.

I went to see this play, having finished college and was at home for several months hearing about it on TV. I didn't find the play "frightening," (they had plants on the front row to scream), and during one scene some in the audience giggled. One of the male actors broke character just after he entered the stage, looked around at the audience and gave an approving smile and nod as if to say, "Nice crowd tonight." Duh!!

I've watched very many of these shows now (thank you roots66!) and I've come up with a list of my favourite women. Those who not only looked good but were charming, intelligent and funny too. Anyone like to share their own list? 1. Hedy Lamaar 2. Ava Gardner 3. Debbie Reynolds 4. Jeanne Crane (although I don't share her political outlook) 5. Eva Marie Saint 6. Lee Remick 7. Gene Tierney I can think of far fewer of today's stars about whom I feel the same way. Grumpy old man??

Even better than the clip in which she was promoting BABY THE RAIN... At least they didn't guess quite as quickly. I love Hepburn but I wish Lee had gotten the part in the movie version of WAIT. Some ppl complain about Audrey snapping up Julie A's part in MY FAIR LADY. I held more of a grudge about her landing a role which would have been a great vehicle for Lee. Silly of me, I know.

@gregorvonkallahann I would've liked Lee to have taken the WAIT UNTIL DARK role as well, though it's as a benefit for Audrey as much as it is for Lee: With Audrey out of the picture for WAIT UNTIL DARK, she would've been nominated for TWO FOR THE ROAD, a far better film and performance, and at least she would've been nominate for BA for the right film that year. And Lee would've gotten a role better suited for her, so everyone wins.

Perceptive of you. I would have thought Lee would have been great. The play did fold on Broadway. But the movie was a hit. Life is strange sometimes. Lee's fame did not sustain itself into the 60's. Puzzling. Sad to me she was cremated and lived in a very humble house at the time of her death. MAkes you realize in life that where you are and who you know is everything because she really had talent. AND acted beyond belief. died at 56! SAD.
