이강소 : 몽유 夢遊

From June 16th to August 1st, Gallery Hyundai holds a solo exhibition From a Dream by Lee Kang-So, an artist who has consistently pondered upon the direction of contemporary art and practiced his creative endeavor through experiments unrestricted by the convention. The artist explores possibilities on the existentialism of ‘reality’ through a relationship between reality and image and the traces of nothingness (無) beyond image. This exhibition introduces the artist’s recent paintings that embrace the exchange of qi (氣) and energy through the use of brush on canvas. Gallery Hyundai aims to provide an opportunity for the viewers to experience Lee Kang-So’s experimental stance, particularly as a painter.
갤러리현대는 이강소의 개인전 《몽유(夢遊, From a Dream)》를 6월 16일부터 8월 1일까지 개최한다. 이강소는 현대미술이 나아갈 지표를 끊임없이 고민하며, 형식에 매이지 않고 꾸준히 실험적인 창작활동을 선보이고 있다. 작가는 다양한 매체를 통해 실체와 이미지, 이미지 너머에 있는 무의 존재가 남긴 흔적 등을 탐구한다. 《몽유(夢遊, From a Dream)》는 서울에서 10여 년 만에 열리는 작가의 근작 회화 전시로 국내외 미술계에서 주목받고 있다. 이번 전시를 통해 '화가' 이강소의 진면목과, 캔버스에 붓으로 기와 에너지의 교류를 담아내는 그의 실험적인 태도를 확인할 수 있을 것이다.
