Haechan has amazing variety skills which is why staff gives him alot of parts in NCT content. He's quick witted yet knows the limit of what to say & how far to push things. And because of his smart remarks and how he reacts to the situations, those scenes stay in rather than be edited out which can make it seems like he's the center of attention. However, if you watch alot of behind the scenes content, he's quiet and reserved unless he needs to lift the mood of the room up. Also, if you notice who his "victims" are, they're usually members he is most close to (Doyoung, Mark, Renjun). This usually means that their relationship is strong enough for him to tease them in front of the camera

Haechan actually doesn’t like being the centre of attention, he is very shy and never speaks of himself so most of the time even when he is talking or teasing the members he is usually using that opportunity to show off their talent like with the raps or singing or stuff!! Also I feel like the staff knows no other member can be as free with the scripts during variety shows or talk shows they usually make sure Haechan says more but even the staff all tell that he is the only member who is very funny but at the same time knows not to overdo it or be disrespectful!! Even though he is made fun of for his body or skin colour and what not he never goes to such extents and I think he is generally the most misunderstood person and most of it is because of himself cause he never speaks of his achievements!!

Completely agree! Also, Haechan has mentioned multiple times that being "Haechan" tires him out because Haechan is an exaggeration of his bubbly personality. He's definitely outgoing and a ball of sunshine but for the camera, he has to take it up a notch to fulfill his Haechan persona

@@jennielawrence8809 agree, though I never doubted the members' love for each other. Like there are so many moments where you could tell they're just happy to be with Haechan but there are definitely some times where it's kind of sad that he gets mocked by the other members because of his skin color and gets body shamed sometimes as well (he's not even fat to begin with) I know it's all jokes but it could be really offending for Haechan as well as for other people. It's not really all of the time they mock him for that tho and not all members does it. I just hope they could grow more and be more open minded. Since they're not kids anymore, I mean I know they're still very young but they're old enough to know when a joke can be offensive, they grew up together literally so they must've been so comfortable to each other that sometimes the jokes becomes too much. But other than that, I really love their brotherhood, might even be my favorite among all the units although I love all.

@@Portiayuu the thing is the dreamies pick on eachother an equal amount. if haechan ever took their jokes seriously they would HASH it out as adults. they grew up together and are basically brothers and haechan uses the exact same jokes towards the dreamies or other nct members so we can’t really say the other’s need to be more mature when that’s nct dreams entire dynamic towards each other. some of the jokes from an outsiders prospective may seem harsh, but we are not haechan nor do fans have a right to assume how haechan feels bcs if he was ever truly hurt he would talk to them. all in all nct dream are my favorite brotherhood as well, you could tell how much they all truly love and cherish one another.

He's shy and he has a good heart and I love everything about him

Haechan loves the reaction he gets from others by making them laugh, he might joke around a lot of the times but he'll always reassure the members if they are experiencing low confidence and that's something I absolutely adore about him. He knows when to stop joking around and what topics to not touch upon, he's one of the members alongside mark that connects the NCT members together. I think someone else in the comments mentioned how haechan talked about how exhausting it can be to play the bubbly image and I want to extend upon that, he truly plays it well and yes it's a part of him but so is donghyuck and I find that when he's calm and collected fans and doing things that don't fit into their perception of "haechan" they blow things out of proportion and that really needs to stop. What you see onscreen on variety isn't what there is to a person everyone

Haechan is an all rounder artist this man can sing , dance, cooking , hosting and also can entertain he is whole package 🙌💚

I get what you mean about the chenle thing because I saw a tweet yesterday of jaemin doing random things to chenle and him just staring him without much fuss and someone was like "the day dream realizes chenle will let the members do anything to him it's over" he doesn't care if he's teased and I think he even finds it flattering, but he literally never lets people breathe if he decides to start teasing them (Kun & Jisung are his main victims but no one is safe). I think Haechan doesn't tease him as much because of the lack of reaction and because Chenle's love language is teasing people too, so they kind of cancel each other out and have the cutest most affectionate relationship lol. It's so interesting because to Haechan, Chenle is like a happy virus who cheers him up by just existing and hugs (what usually haechan is to other people) and Haechan always has Chenle's back and I think in Dream he takes his role as one of the older members seriously because he treats ChenJi as if they're his younger siblings.
