Almost immediately after the band was formed by Jimmy Page in 1968, Led Zeppelin set a standard that no one else could equal. They were quite literally the biggest band in the world until they broke up in 1980 due to the death of their drummer John Bonham.

@@dttkku3954 /nod, I don't agree with you either, but the biggest thing I don't agree with was when Green Dreams said "This is not an opinion". There are too many great rock bands out there to pick just one... It's like me saying Earth, Wind and Fire are the greatest R&B group ever, when there can be arguments made for so many others... Isley Bros., O'Jays, even Kool and the Gang, etc. Best Rapper Ever "Snoop Dogg"... Just kidding, it's always an opinion.

They are from England and came on the scene in the late 60's. I saw them live here in Winnipeg Canada back in 1970 when I was 16. These are the Rock Gods. Welcome to the rabbit hole! Their music is a mixture of rock, blues, soul and folk. You need headphones man! Next I suggest Dazed and Confused, You Shook Me, Kashmir, The Battle of Evermore , Trampled under Foot, In my Time of Dying to name a few. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦🌻✌

@@ShawnandMel4Life That should have been 'Dazed and confused' (not 'confessed'. For all their songs check out Zepp's album versions first, but once you done that there are some fantastic live versions. The band were so tight and accomplished they could really stretch out on the live songs and improvise the hell out of them. Like other folks have said, for the album tracks you'll hear another whole dimension if use headphones, they did some crazy stereo mixing back in the day, particularly on 'Whole lotta love'. When you get to discover bands like Pink Floyd it's a must too, they'll take you on a journey and immerse you in their soundscapes.

The Zeppelin took flight in 1968, from the ashes of British psychedelic band The Yardbirds, and in a short period of time effectively conquered the western world. Nine US number one albums made them one of the most successful groups of the period, and they are still being rediscovered today...

I have a feeling that you have heard Led Zeppelin but maybe not realized it. It's almost impossible to not have heard them at some point. Formed in 1968 in the UK and perhaps the greatest live band of all time. Their concerts were legendary. This song was one of their earlier hits (from their second album), but Stairway To Heaven is their biggest song. They didn't have a lot of actual "hits" because they only released a handful of singles in the US and just one in the UK (this song in fact), wanting to concentrate on their albums instead...all of which are mini-masterpieces. Almost all of their songs from all of their albums can still be heard in regular rotation on Classic Rock radio stations. The group was an off-shoot of another legendary band, The Yardbirds. The members were singer Robert Plant, guitarist/producer Jimmy Page (one of the most famous session guitarists of the 60s), bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones, and drummer, the late, great John "Bonzo" Bonham. Other than a handful of reunion concerts, the group broke up after Bonham died in 1980, as the other members didn't want to continue the group without him. Plant has gone on to a huge solo career which continues to this day. Page has released a handful of solo albums and been a member of a few other groups, as well as continuing his producing and session work. Jones has done a lot of behind-the-scenes work in the music industry as a producer and composer.

The BEST drum into ever - by the best Rock drummer ever! So for loving these guys so much you need MANY MORE reactions asap! You also MUST get over the ear headphones to really appreciate the side to side phasing and instruments going on - bands like Led Zeppelin, Floyd and the Beatles later years must have this experience. Led Zeppelin was an English hard rock/heavy blues group that started in 1968 and lasted until 1980 then disbanded due to the untimely death of their drummer. NO this is not their biggest hit - they have TONS. One you might recognize because it's been used in several movies is called Immigrant Song. Zeppelin plays a variety of styles such as folk, acoustic, funk, ballads, you name it. Yes, that was the guitar that made the race car noise. The noises during the break was made by a theremin played by guitarist Jimmy Page. Jimmy also occasionally used a cello bow on his guitar strings, most notably on their song Dazed and Confused.

Everyone knows Led Zeppelin are the kings of rock. BUT, few people know their manager Peter Grant was the gangster of band management. During the rise of Zeppelin's popularity they were about to go on stage at a sold out show one night. Peter Grant, at the last minute, presented a contract to the venue management. The contract stated that the band gets 90 percent of the profits from the show and if you dont sign it the band will walk. Fearing a riot the venue had no choice but to sign. Every artist from then on owes their fortune to Peter Grant. He forever changed the industry payout that night.

It is said after a world tour Led zeppelin wanted to go somewhere they could retreat for peace and quiet. 1 of the bands family still owned an old run down farmhouse in wales where the retreated to. Whilst here in wales they wrote stairway to heaven and got into welsh culture they fell in love with the area and bought the famed statue of owain glyndwr for the area they visited and still it stands proud.

Great reaction! You were right to pause the song when Plant started singing, he has the sexiest voice ever and must be acknowledged. Listen to "Since I've Been Loving You" and "D'yer Mak'er."

You guys are amazing. Robert Plant is the singer. Jimmy Page is the guitarist. Your fans could watch 100 videos of you doing Zep. You should look at the Led Zeppelin 4 Symbols album which is very famous. It has Stairway to Heaven and stuff you probably already know

These guys are British. Originated in 1968. This came out in 1969. It put them on the map in the USA. They were the first heavy metal band. Robert Plant was a God and now a legend. Jimmy Page on guitar (guitar God), John Paul Jones great bass and keyboards (mastermind) and the legendary drum God...John “Bonzo” Bonham There is a fine body of work to explore. Welcome to the LZ rabbit hole Should be part of any music history lesson. Glad y’all enjoyed it. It’s so great to see them be discovered again. They were top notch and each member absolutely irreplaceable. Ok....best to go with the original recordings first. Maybe check these out next. Dazed and Confused When the Levee Breaks
