Hi Guys. If you really want to be blown away, then do react to this INCREDIBLE video by 15yo Dutch girl, Emma Kok singing "Voila" in French, live in orchestral concert. Try not to cry. Emma has a terrible stomach disease but has a superb voice. You have to listen to the intro about her, then the song. It's gonna blow yr mind & touch yr heart. Most INSPIRATIONAL .... kzread.info/dash/bejne/fZh9ytNqpMWec9I.htmlsi=e6oqyD58aR4onRyO

My favorite song of all time since I first heard it in 1972! To me the greatest riff of all time and the greatest rock vocal of all time AND the greatest rock guitar solo of all time! What else can I say lol… Oh yeah, phenomenal drumming by John Bonham, and a killer, heavy bass riff from Jones too. It’s all there!

A good number of listeners comment on the meaning of "backdoor man" however nobody commented on Plant's moaning during the middle break. He plainly says towards the end, "I'm going to give you every inch of my love". That occurs just before the backdoor man lyric. Check it out.

The actual 1930s-40s Southern bluesmen usage is when the hard working man of the house comes home and he hears the back door slam as the “back door man” hurriedly sneaks out. Like in ‘Since I've Been Loving You’ Lyrics: I open my front door, I hear my back door slam. You know, I must have one of them newfangled. Newfangled back-door men. But through the years the term changed meaning in many people’s minds like LZ said; 'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings

Yeah, not a “supergroup” according to the accepted definition of the word. Plant and Bonham were largely unknown, and Jones was a session guitarist. So no, Zeppelin was not a supergroup. And I’ll add that supergroups, while made up of great musicians, often suffered from internal ego battles and lack of chemistry. Because of these they usually didn’t last long (look at Cream). The strong chemistry between the members is a large part of what made Zeppelin both unique and great. Unsurpassed, in my mind, soaring above all the “supergroups”.

At 67 i can tell you back in ‘69 back door man simply meant that he wants to be the one leaving out the back door when your OTHER man is coming in the FRONT door. Your secret lover… NOT what you are thinking😂😂. It was a different time . But then, you can still think what you want it to mean… many many have and do. Either way, after soo long its still sounds great. Glad you got to hear them. I heard it new when i was 13 yrs old. … enjoy..

I clicked on this knowing that there would be a misunderstanding about "backdoor man." So I'm happy to see it addressed in the opening seconds. lol Back in the era when married women stayed at home ... when the husband leaves out the front door to go to work, the wife's lover sneaks in the back door. The Doors - another psychedelic blues rock band from the same era - have a hit song, "Back Door Man."

The psychedelic portion is supposed to be the sonic expression of an orgasm, thus the rapid breathing. If you want to hear some great channel-switching from right to left earphone and vice-versa, check out the ending of “What is and What Should Never Be”. Want to hear some guys really high, listen to Iron Butterfly singing "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. This was originally meant to be "In The Garden of Eden". The writer/singer Doug Ingle wrote it after drinking a gallon of Red Mountain wine. When he first performed it he was so drunk, slurring his words the person copying down the words wrote it as "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida ".

I don't understand why this band is so popular. If I want heavy music I find Led Zeppelins guitar tone to be too thin , scratchy and cold sounding. There is no real "tone" I associate with Led Zep, unlike with bands like Van Halen, Black Sabbath or Queen. Jimmy Page is a decent guitarist, if sloppy, but so what, there weren't too many good guitarists around in the late 60s so you were bound to stand out. Even in a band as derided by snobs as KiSS I'd pick Ace Frehleys playing over Page. Nowadays I would rate at least a hundred guitarists above him. Robert Plant lost his voice only a few albums into their career, meaning over half of his performances are hoarse barks. He's doing bluesy screaming, again so what. Far from being the first or even the best. His voice is quite feminine, and there were a lot of great female blues/ soul singers who sound more powerful than him. Plus his English accent sometimes slips into his singing, making his bluesy singing a lot less authentic sounding. And they did a considerable number of hippy type acoustic folky stuff. Well, some people don't like rap, some don't like string quartets, some don't like country and western and I don't like acoustic folk songs. Including Stairway To Heaven. John Bonham, a powerful drummer albeit one dimensional, but how many people listen to a band for the drums? Live albums from the 70s were infamous for their lengthy boring drum solos which nearly everyone skipped. Plus of course their copious plagiarism. Some of their songs are blatant stealing, like Black Mountain Side and Bron Y Aur Stomp, and some are them doing reworked versions of other peoples songs, like Dazed and Confused and .......well, virtually the rest of their first four albums. The main riff to Whole Lotta Love is just a slightly modified version of riff you'll hear hundreds of times in old blues. Even Hey Joe (covered earlier by Hendrix) has a little riff very similar to this riff.

For the more mature audience, this has to be the most openly sexual rock tunes ever. Lyrics proof - "deep down inside" , "gonna give you my love (i.e. my sperm)" , and the "Uh, Uh," section - a sex climax, no doubt. Despite this context, Whole Lotta Love has become a rock icon.
