Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world.

Will Perrone i am a drummer and this still blows me away. The things he was able to do is unreal. And he didn't use a big setup like today when people are pretty much surrounded by drums and cymbals, and he had no double bass pedal. Just talent, the man is unreal on the drums.

so i am neither a drummer nor a musician at all but a passionate listener. i lately got really into drums and great drummers and their impact on songs but i dont like solos like this one. so pearl, rich, bonham etc all their solos just sound like how to hit a lot of drums really fast. their techniques may be really impressive and all the theoretical stuff behind it but it does not change the sound. it sounds more like a demonstration of skill than music. here is the only drum solo that i found until now, that is really impressive and feels like music kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z5WTuriGZ6-tns4.html

Not just the greatest drummer, but so good infact he makes all other look like bufoons. Wish i could thank him personally for countless hours of sheer joy he has given me. I've laughed, cried, stood and screamed, ran thru the house kungfu kicking mid air, curled into foetal position, howled like a wild wolf....... No other musician can do that. Just him. The comment was that there will never be a better drummer. That’s what I disagree with. Yes he was good, he was a pioneer. What I’m saying is that saying there will never be a better drummer is kinda ignorant to the progress that has been made by current drummers. Drummers today can drum freakin circles around Bonham.

Not only is bonzo amazing & one of the best drummers, but jimmy is one of the best guitarists. Robert one of the best vocalists. This entire band is the best of best. Just pure, raw talent, and complete focus on creativity and each individual. In an interview with Jimmy, he stated that when people listen to led zeppelin, he wanted them to be able to zone in on one thing or another, and then as a whole. Meaning, you can very clearly hear Robert. But also the guitar. And the drums. They are all clear. They're all phenomenal. Another band even comparative to this talent has yet to be created. (Still so many amazing artists) but man, led zeppelin really must have sold their souls for this talent.
