@@terrysolien4870 Hendrix best guitar work is on Machine Gun. As great and mind bending as it sounds it starts to turn a bit flat creatively. Most guitarists can only play a solo so far until their creativity falls flat and they start replaying the same licks and riff over and over at different pitches and effects. Gary Moore does this a lot. Jimmy on the other hands goes on and on and on and nothing sounds the same. There are some performances where he gets a bit lost in his own solo and tries to recover but keeps going making it sound meh but when he is in the zone I think he's untouchable. I know I'm going to get shit for this but I'm not biased. Mark Knophler and David Gilmour are two guitarists that can go on and on and if they don't, they end it right where it needs to without overdoing it.

@@UlyssesM Hendrix added variations to his songs, so they weren't played the same way as do some great guitarists. Those guitarists that you named are some of my favorite guitarists anyway; Page, Gilmour, Knopfler, Stevie Ray, Clapton, Alvin Lee and various brilliant ones that I haven't mentioned. Each to their own taste and the musicians from the 60's and 70's just so talented to play a musical instrument and bring out great music over time for generations to listen to.

Hey! Everyone calm the fuck down! Bonzo and Moonie were good friends and drinking buddies. They both even wore full Gestapo uniforms in public, where they both were staying and it just so happened that there was a Jewish convention going on in the same hotel. It’s funny but it’s really not funny at all. I don’t think either of them were Anti- Semitic but that was very extreme thing that they thought was funny. They were drunk Englishmen who had a wild Rockstar reputation to live up to. There are photos of them dressed like this. Again, extreme humor if you can even find it funny. I’ve done some outlandish stuff but I think that’s in poor taste to say the least. They shocked the shit out of everyone, pushing the line. As much as I like both these guys as musicians, I think a stunt like that NOW, would have landed both of them in the hospital.

Led Zeppelin is best defined by the 30 second moment beginning at 6:40. This is Jimmy Page’s band - PERIOD. He will go where he pleases and the band follows. You called it magical - you’re fucking straight bros!!

I agree with you about Page, but even he would admit that what made the band the perfection (my word) it was and will be forever, was the fact that they were all in constant sync. They knew exactly what they needed to make a song incredible by looking at each other or playing a chord and Bonzo matching it perfectly. It’s one of the reasons they didn’t carry on after Bonzo’s death, it took all 4 of these masters to make Zepplin what it was. But there’s no doubt in my mind that Page is a God and guitars were made for him!

@@remedy9648 much is said about that from the moment they announced, “we can no longer continue as we were”. And it’s true but that is an intricacy forged by the years of constant touring and layers of musical nuances on stage yet, it’s ALSO well known that no two Zeppelin shows were ever the same. They were famous for playing 3 hour concerts as opposed to the Beatles doing 20-30 minutes. The point is that there were many, many musical avenues they ventured to fill all that time which resulted in songs like Dazed being 26 minutes - the equivalent of an entire Beatles concert. The movie is designed to show a visual expression of each member including Grant. Bonzo’s Moby Dick is a solo so it’s always going to differ from night to night. Jones’ No Quarter, Jimmy’s Dazed and Plant’s TSRTS and Rain Song are their “Beyond” as marketed at release and each member is given their time to shine it their songs and throughout. But, in the beginning and the end, the man in charge to date, is Jimmy Page. Be it in the studio, as the Engineer, on stage as the lead guitar and if you look at post breakup through today, it’s Page who has all the reels and remasters and markets it through various media interviews.

disagree. Page on his own would have shred every pocket and destroyed many songs. His virtuosity would have gotten the best of him and the magic would have been lost. Think Keith Emerson - never refined into ambrosia. Jones and Bonham contained him. gave him walls to scale and caves to explore. Yeah, he would break out and they would have to rebuild another around him while Plant was like a lion tamer with flaming hoops of vocals for him to jump through.

An absolutely stunning live performance of this fantastic song. Love that bit of interaction between John Paul Jones and John Bonham, that was so good. The fantasy sequence in the middle was filmed near Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands where Jimmy Page had a house at the time. Jimmy's guitar playing in this song is really phenomenal, awesome, gosh, how else can you describe it? However this performance is just incredible by all members of the band and Dazed and Confused is a good title because that's exactly how I feel after watching it, well, mainly dazed to be honest! They played Seattle in 1972 and my dad brought home tickets one day for me and my girlfriend. The concert lasted four and a half hours. Toward the end Plant said "That's everything we know. You want to hear XXX again?" (I forgot what he'd offered) and the crowd kept going wild. I've got the bootlegs and there's no duplicates and no recording of Plant saying that... and the bootlegs only give about three and a half hours of music (three full CDs). This song was about 40 minutes in length.

First saw this at the cinema during the 80's, then bought the double vinyl album. It later was released on vhs video to actually watch at home. It was all new back then. Amazing concert. Each band member has their own fantasy film. That was obviously Jimmy's. Robert's is during The Rain Song, John Paul is during No Quarter, and John Bonham during a drum solo on Moby Dick. Brilliant movie. Peter Grant their manager at the time had his fantasy at the very start of the movie. He was the first ever manager to demand his boys got 95% of the takings, or you don't get them to play. Till then it was the other way around for all groups doing live gigs. Promoters got the money leaving little left for the artists. Peter Grant ruled knowing Led Zeppelin was in big demand - so - You pay - They play ! ...& they did ! Lol Great reaction guys to an epic track. Saw them do this live in '79 at Knebworth - Jimmy had a laser shooting out the tip of his violin bow and was inside a moving laser pyramid.

Kudos to you guys for being brave enough to tackle this particular performance -- there are few reactors who would, I believe. It's one thing for us, now, to watch a film clip such as this one, and be mesmerized by the intensity of the entire band, especially Page. Can you imagine what it must have been like to see this concert in person!? Those lucky folks were privileged to witness a moment of sheer musical ecstasy on the part of the band -- an instant of existentialism played out on stage before their very eyes! It must have been awe-inspiring, mind-blowing, and nerve-numbing all at the same time! Even including the minor technical flubs and the fact that Plant's voice was clearly worn-out at times, this was utterly amazing to behold...

Gone way too young and so very missed. Look up the Hamburg, Germany 3-24-73 Zeppelin show here on YT. It is audio only and by far one of their best concerts ever. Dazed & Confused resembles much of what you saw during your reaction. It’s Bonzo’s drum bit at the end of the Hamburg version that you will not believe. Trust me. Check it out.
