Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world.

You know a lot of times people say that musicians are gods just because they're rock stars and they made some great music, but these three gentlemen are just simply divine because of the way they carry themselves and speak to others. And the music they made cannot be touched by anyone. It was magic. I can't say the same for any other group.

And thank you Pagey, for giving Jason Bonham the mad props he deserves, and for saying he was the only drummer who could do the job. Jason does his father proud every time he plays the drums (based on everything I'VE heard).

My first love of Led Zeppelin happened when I was five. D'yer Mak'er on the AM radio. WTIX. New Orleans. I danced, and felt an intense love of rock 'n roll for the first time in my life. I never forgot. That was 1973. I have done nothing but turned my daughters on to your profound music. The rule in my car is: if there is a Led Zeppelin song on, the station can not be changed! Now, my oldest daughter is 18, and I intend to take her with me to see the movie. Please tour so my kids will be apart

For what it's worth...some attempts have been made but we should commend Zeppelin for preserving their legacy. As much as I love Jason, this band lived and died with his father and what everyone respects about Zeppelin is that it was always about the music and the band. It was never about the money or pressure.

Poor Jonesy. Robert seriously doesn't like him, from the looks of his body language (never making eye contact, moving away from him). I've worshiped Zeppelin for 36 years, and it's been heartbreaking to watch how JPJ has been given the shaft by the other two since the 90s. He was the secret weapon in Zeppelin, with his arrangements and proficiency on multiple instruments. I love you Jonesy !

The greatest rock band that ever scorched the earth. I just pre-ordered the 2 CD + 2 DVD set. Roll on, Nov. 19th. I'm almost 47, so I just missed being old enough to have seen them live, and it's one of my biggest regrets. C'mon, Robert - just one more glorious tour: the fans are aching for it, and the ticket sales would shatter all records. Failing that, I at least hope that Jimmy puts something together and tours....

Another bit of Led Zepp trivia - they played at the Sydney Showground in about 1973. A friend of mine worked in the local music union. He suffered a tumour and was cured after 6 months in a hospital bed. He gets out and first thing he does is go to the LZ show. He later souvenired their big speakers which I saw out on a farm block all weather beaten in 2009. He relates how the crowd jumped the fence, spooked the security so Plant, just takes the mic and settles everyone down. Very cool story.
