I see what you mean. We call this phenomenon a caterpillar. The reason is that a lamp bead is damaged and the current leaks to other lamp beads. This is related to the PCB design and the scanning method we often say. The reason why the display screen can display images is that it displays each line at a high speed. Because it is very fast, we can see continuous images, which are actually displayed line by line, If a lamp bead in the row is damaged, a caterpillar will appear in the column where the lamp bead is located. To repair this problem, just find the damaged lamp bead and replace it. Now many driver chips have been eliminated, such as ICN2153+5958;

Depend what’s the pixel pitch (lamps size)you do the repair.2020 for P3.9 can be adjusted to 300-320. 1010 for P1.2-P1.8 suggestion to 280.

Depend the PCB design. Have 1/2 scan for control 16*2 or 8*4 ，1/16 scan control 16*16 or 8*32. Lot of designs.
