Been thinking about this for a month or two. Every time I come across a strange dead switching chip, I thought, all these circuits are basically the same. Why not have a drop-in board using a common chip. Just need to be careful with the very high voltages between those wires though. You just need to know if there is a pull-up or pull-down feedback on the opto and whether or not there is an overall enable line.

What about heat dissipation. Is this IC going to float in the air or are you going to put it on a heat sink? Will it last without a heat sink?
