Dude, if you hitch a ride on the LED Headlight upgrade wagon, you are not alone in this struggle to make that fog light on. Thanks to this guy and those others who tried.
Oh my goodness gracious! I have the same truck, and I had the same issue! Thank you very much for sharing your information and finding a solution. I pretty much gave up on trying to fix it because I could not figure it out and nobody could help me. Thank you very much.
This was immensely helpful. Thank you for your time and assistance.
Its 2am i just spent 2 hours checking fuzes and looking for shorts 😅 decided to youtube it 😅
Worked on 2000 tundra. I upgraded my headlights and fog lights to led lights. Everything worked fine for about 2 weeks and then brights or fog lights stopped working. I bought the exact product in the video and everything works again.
Less than 800 until 100k you deserve it! Been here at least 8 years with the f150 crew cab videos

That's awesome man i appreciate that!
So glad to have found your video. It explained my problem perfectly. I ordered the resistor to fix the problem.I bought my 03 tundra used and the LED headlights were already installed. Gonna also pick up some normal bulbs to put in as well and decide which I like more. I'm not super attached to the LED's, but I appreciate the video and info! Cheers

Did it work?
Thank you for the video. It's April 17, 2023 and I used the resistor because I had the same issue and it worked. Also the resistor gets very hot but I mounted it on the metal frame on top of the light and so far so good.
We need to get this man to 100k before new year’s
Big think you might want to do with aftermarket clears like those headlights is to run a pretty generous bead of silicone outdoor clear caulk around the seams of the headlights. Did this to mine after having moisture problems forever with aftermarket headlights and it fixed the problem.

I have this exact same issue on my 2003 Subaru Forester. I’ve tried doing the resistors on both sides, guess I’ll have to go out and try just the passenger side.
This help me alot thank you.
What is the resistor called? I need it
Thank you for the video, I just put in LED bulbs and ran into the same issue. I think that the fan draws down the current. I really would like to have my fog lights operate independently, I was going to try to bypass the headlights and run a separate line to the fog lights, but I will save that project for later.
Love the switch backs! Works great for me
Thankyou so much, I put in new lights today and I was so pissed when the rod lights Didint work
I recently pulled the LED bulbs and put OSRAM H4 Night Breaker in. The LED were brighter but did not produce a beam on the road. Kinda disappointing, but I live my Tundra.

That's because LED lights are like lasers--they're directional. When you put an LED bulb in a halogen socket, the light isn't going to be reflected the same way. Every once in a while, I see some older trucks with aftermarket LEDs that just blind other drivers, but produce little, if any, light on the road, and I've even seen a couple flicker like crazy. That's why people should think twice about replacing halogens with LEDs!
Get some JDM Astar 3157A switchbacks. Whatever bulbs you got aren't compatible with ck sockets for the turn signal/parking lights.
The resistor "fixes" it because it tricks the relays into thinking the halogen💡 are still installed. It adds resistance that the LEDS removed.
Do we need to buy 2 or 1 resister so it can work??!

Where’d you find the clear corner lamps? I can’t find. Them anywhere now. They don’t seem to be manufacturing them anymore.
I installed led's now my cruise control won't work with the lights on...2001 tundra...my fog lights don't work either...thanks for your video
I put LED's in my 2005 Sequoia...looks great but same thing. Fog lights c9ntrol high/low beam. Also I have no blue high beam indicator in the cluster. Will the resistor fix that too? Thanks

Where can I get those clear corners turn signals?? I been looking for those with no luck.

I’m having the same issue with my 99 Dodge Ram 4x4. I installed resistors on both headlights and both fog lights but the high beam indicator still comes on and I cannot run the heads and fogs simultaneously. I’m going to try what you did only installing one on the passenger side and see if that works
So happy to have found your video. That's a great exhaust sound. What is it? Thanks!
What did you do to your exhaust!? I need to get my tundra sounding like that!
@rdy434

Just remove the muffler and put a straight pipe pretty cheap and sounds really good
What's the exhaust setup?
Do you have the link to buy the resistor? , I like the fact that has the plug and play plugs
Fog light switch weren't controlling the highbeams. They added additional control of the highbeams.
I installed led headlight bulbs on my 2000 tundra (that didn't come with fog lights) and now my gauge cluster dimmer controls the brightness of my high beams? lol ill try this resistor method it should fix it, also for when I get led fog lights
How’s everything working it’s the LEDs 2 years later?
It’s been 2 years how has the resistor held up?
The reason they are switch backs is because the bright yellow light is better for piercing fog and heavy rain.
@John-bs5ug
4 ай бұрын
Bright light is worse for fog than standard halogens! Fog is a colloid. The bright LED light will bounce off the fog and it will reflect that bright LED light right back at you and at other drivers.
Can you use any resistor? I found some on Amazon but there called flicker resistors, there smaller and have the same specs
Would any resistor work?
What I find odd is that my LED fog lights on my 2007 Sequoia limited didn’t need the resistor so I had to return the resistor
@toddkokko5049

My 2005 Sequoia didn’t need the resistor either.
I have a 2008 Sequoia how would that work for me being that I have a bulb for a hi and a bulb for a low?
I have that exact same issue , all my fuses and fog relay are good . And I’m assuming bulb socket is good , should I try this ? Thanks .
Saved my life before this trip
Did the fog light flash amber when in signal/hazard mode?
Were you able to put the rubber boot back on behind the headlight? Or is the gasket on the bulb enough to keep moisture/dust out?
Mount the resistor away from painted surfaces, plastic, or other components that may be damaged by the heat generated by the resistor.
That yellow switch back every time I flash or change the lights would irk me. They would be a next day return on Amazon for ones that do not do that
Do u have the link for part of the headlight? I have same problem. Thanks
off topic bro, just curious ? did the 24's on 35's on the old silverado (2018 model) make the steering wheel shake at 55 mph. like those New 24x12 on 33's?
I did it, it works on the head light and fog. but the dash/ front running lights and tail lights stopped working. any help out there. 01 Tundra
Well POOP! That item did not work for me on my 2006. Fogs still wont come on. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
I’m confused. So you only need one? Not 2 so you can have one on each headlight?
How many inches past the stock 2 inches did you go up to get the 24x12 on 33s for the TrailBoss?
It WORKED!

Just 1 works
I ordered two and did not work for my LED lights. I tried the first resistor on the passenger side and did not work. Added a second resistor to the driver side and did not work. Removed the passenger side resistor and did not work. So the solution is go back to halogen light bulbs as designed for this model year Tundra

It beats taping a flashlight on each side.
I had the same issue and bought the resistors but now when I turn my headlights on it stays on high beams with fog lights and when I switch it to high beams it just turns off fog lights, and when I turn fog lights off they go to low beams but no fog lights anyone know how to fix this?

Is there any way to do switch back turn signals? I’ve been hearing a lot that I can’t do that in my tundra just because of the wiring. I’m just wondering if you know any ways. So it’s white when you’re driving but when you turn your turn signal on a marker lights blink amber
