I like your work. I also believe that it IS sad that people sometimes go out of their way to destroy precious knowledge and artifacts that provide us with a "window" into the past.

This is similar to the Spinosaurus fossils being destroyed in Munich, Germany in WWII. It is always sad to history being lost this way. The Library of Alexandria was burned down in 48 BC by Julius Caesar and recently Isis blew up most of Nimrud, the ancient Assyrian capital are other examples of this. I really enjoy your videos.

What happened to the museum and its exceptional fossils is quite tragic, and my sympathy goes to the fossil owners. I think I'll contribute to that fundraising campaign ASAP.

Sadly they were planning on installing them with a new renovation, although their budget dropped down to only $13,000/yr, so like many museums they are struggling to make improvements to a very old historic building.

Problem is not have or not have sprinklers, problens is corruption, incompetent administration ( not of the museum itself) of finantial resources assigned to culture / education, recearch for master degres or pos doc. And it cames (or better, growned up) from our last 4 presidents... It's sad to see how deep in public administration ( the high level of staff it - indicated by bad politician..) and how it corroded the public administration. We have very skilled and top personal in whatever part of the public machine you look, problem is.. they are hand tied. We need a lot of ellections to "clean " our executive, legislative and judiciary power from the bad ones and it sarts tomorrow, October 7 - ellection day!

September/18: The fire was due to low investments in the federal university of rio, the museum manager at the time. May/19: Far-right new elected president Bolsonaro cuts 30% from public funding in ALL federal universities.
