It was very difficult to score back in Jordans' era because defense was emphasized, and more physicality was allowed. Today's NBA bench players are scoring 40 because of the emphasis for offense.

The Bucks were a threat for most of the 80s. In the 84-85 season, they won 59 games and had the 2nd best defense in the league. They had Sidney Moncrief and Paul Pressey(2 great defenders), Ricky Pierce, Terry Cummings(great scorer around this time), Craig Hodges and the center, Alton Lister. Jordan had 63 against the Celtics, but he surpassed that mark twice in his career, scoring 64 against the Magic in 1993 and 69 points against the Cavs in the 89-90 season.

That wasn’t a push off. Russell’s momentum is what carried him over. Jordan game back to the Wizards because he was asked to by the league because of failing ratings since MJ left after ‘98. The Washington Wizards owner even sweetened the pot by offering ownership to Jordan. A deal the owner would eventually renege on. Jordan actually showed enough flashes to thrill the crowd. He also played on both ends of the floor, unlike some fake goats

All facts. The controversial push off only looked like a push off against Russell. I watched that game in '98. They showed multiple angles (at least 4) and one clearly showed Jordan never touched Russell on the pull up jump shot. Jordan just stopped in his tracks, and Russell kept going forward. It's why Russell and the Jazz never challenged the call at that time.

He played that game on Father's Day and was emotionally drained after that game. The flu game they say was food poisoning from pizza that only he ate before the game. That 7 game series with the pacers was when bird was the the coach. The defense was much better then.

(3,041) MJ has the most scoring titles (10), highest ppg regular season (30.12), AND playoffs (33.4). Highest ppg (33.6) in NBA Finals for players with more than 10 games played. What are you talking about "expect more"?

14:10 James Jordan was killed after The Bulls' Third Straight Championship in the offseason of 1993. Michael Jordan' was VERY CLOSE with his dad. He actually gave him his FIRST TWO CHAMPIONSHIP RINGS. His Death was the MAIn REASON why he didn't play the following season, RETIRED after that third Championship. His Dad was a semi-pro baseball player in his younger days and wanted Michael to play baseball as well. He was killed in a car jacking by two thugs. (a car that Jordan bought him a couple months prior and took the championship rings as well) After his dad was killed, He QUIT basketball to fulfill his Dad's dream for him to play baseball. That's the reason for his FIRST RETIREMENT (in a nutshell).

Jordan did this during the NBA's Golden Era, the league's most talent-rich time frame (80's-90's). The defenses were much tougher than today. He was scoring regularly on guys who were flagrantly fouling him. Teams were, top to bottom, better than today as well. Team work was better, basketball fundimentals were better. I am around Michael's age and was in high school during the same time period he was here in NC. I've been an NBA fan since the mid-70's and have seen all of the greats. Michael Jordan is definitely the best player to ever play, regardless of the era IMO. Larry Bird and Magic Johnson are my 2 & 3. These 3 are the only players to have no holes in their games and did it during the most talented era in NBA history. Fans do have to keep in mind; Player of the Year is for the overall best player in the league. League's Most Valuable Player goes to the player who meant the most to his team's success. Given that and following that season very closely, Karl Malone definitely deserved the honor that year. Utah wouldn't have gone nearly as far without him and the Bulls were stacked top to bottom, giving Michael much more help than Malone had that season. Too, I agree with you that Michael should not have returned to play with the Wizards. Though he did well, it just wasn't the same and didn't allow him to finish his career on a high note. About his dad; Michael was VERY close to his dad. His father was driving home from a funeral in Wilmington NC to his home in Charlotte. He became sleepy and pulled over to grab a quick nap. Two guys robbed and shot his dad in the head, killing him. This absolutely devastated Michael, an emotional wound so deep, he left basketball for 2 years. He gave baseball a try, because his dad taught him the game when he was young and was good at it in junior high and high school. But he ended up coming back into the NBA, better than ever before in honor of his dad. Great video!

Comparing a 60+ point game back in the 80s and 90s to the modern NBA is apples to oranges. The lack of defense and the amount of 3s players/teams take nowadays have inflated stats significantly. You clearly don’t comprehend how different the game was back then. Btw, that 63-point performance in Round 1 vs that legendary Celtics team in 1986 is still a Playoff Record. He’s also still the only player in NBA history to ever have back-to-back 50+ point games in the Playoffs.

Kobe, Iverson, Carter, Tmac, Pierce, Ray Allen etc all wanted a piece of a twice retired Jordan. At 38 he still averaged 24 pts and took Washington to the playoffs. Made players around him better…Greatest of all time!!

That’s the problem with this generation right now. 63 back then would be easy 80+ today. They played defense back then. They don’t now that’s why anyone can score 60-80pts easily now. Even Kobe’s 81, go look at the game and look at the defense they played vs what they played back then. ESPN really doing a disservice to the up and coming generations with the lies and downplaying of recent past eras.

Nice reaction 👍 Don't compare today's high player scores to high scores from back in the 80s/90s, as it was much more difficult to score back then. Context is key, so it makes MJ's 63 score on the Celtics that much more impressive. His father got murdered during a car jacking. This was the main reason/motivation to go and pursuit a career in baseball. Most Lebron fanboys don't know this and just parrot each other claiming dumb and ignorant stuff like he just quit and retired (oh Jordan was a quitter, Lebron would never). There are many details/moments in MJ's career/life, which are overlooked or taken out of context by the LeBum fanboys and LeMedia, to try and make a case for Lebron being the GOAT. It's annoying and hilarious at the same time.

Don't dawg on the 63pts, don't forget, at that time, there was plenty of hand checking, you could be benched for not playing hard enough defense (they would even try to time their fouls throughout the game with most players near or at max), your big guy or Center could hog that island all day long and a lot of these boys would bring that street ball aggression to the court. I used to see blood quite often during those games, especially during the 80s and a good chunk of the 90s. Also, while 3-point shooting was needed and could be impressive, you HAD to be willing to play that mid0-game and drive for the basket if you wanted that respect. I actually don't respect too many of the records of the past 20 years because the game started getting too soft. OH, and they actually would call you on Traveling strictly, not like today where you get pick up the ball and then restart or take 2 to 4 "gather steps" . The NBA has destroyed the game, MLB is destroying their game and the NFL is in the process of destroying theirs. If you are going to get all that cabbage for playing a physical sport then I expect you to play a physical sport.

Mj dad was murder. By two people who came across his dad car the car I believe had a flat tire. A white and black guy took his life and when they were caught each had in their possession some of MJ stuff that he gave to his dad. They both were charged and sentences to life in prison and I believe without the possibility of parole. Soon after that he retired from basketball cause his father was his driving force. When everyone see him with number 45 that was his baseball number and the NBA un retired his number 23, and one more thing that him and his father wanted him to be is a baseball player. So once his father was killed he went to try and full his long life dream. That's the story on the murdering of the GOAT.

Ppl intentionally not to mention the opponents MJ played against, in that era Danny Ainge, Dennis Johnson, Jeff Hornacek, Mark Price…were stars. Players were averagely more skinny, smaller, slower, only a few can jump high or shoot 3’s, no big man can dribble, no eurosteps, no shammgod. They played brute, but no skills. Hand check yes, but no zone defense, to which Kobe said “I don’t care if yo hand check with 3 hands” “the zone I think cripples some of the top scorers” When prime MJ left the bulls in 93’ the went from 57 wins to 55, when prime LeBron left cavaliers in 10’ they went 62 wins to 19. And MJ fans always lie about MJ stuff, for example "his vertical jump is 48 inches" and "his body fat ratio is 3%" If those were true, LeBron & Carter would have a 50 inch vertical jump and Helmut Strebl would have -3% body fat ratio.

This is the dumbest $#!@ I've heard since King Flop said "Not one. Not two. Not three. Not four. Not five......" MJ didn't ball in a Monistat yeast infection cream generation. He played in an era that today's flagrant twos were just common fouls. Today's NBA is not even as physical as that Lingerie Football League. And that's why Luka said it's harder to score in Europe than the NBA. That could never be said when MJ played. It's obvious you're getting Dennis Johnson confused with Cam Johnson. DJ is one of the greatest perimeter defenders all-time. And the reason the Celtics acquired him was so he could defend Magic in the Finals. MJ faced the greatest perimeter defenders all-time (DJ, Moncrief, Alvin Robertson, Rodman, Michael Cooper, Payton, Dumars, Pippen-in practice). When he was able to avoid their lock-jaws he had to contend with some of the greatest rim protectors all-time (Hakeem, David Robinson, Mourning, Mutombo, Ewing, Eaton, Rollins, Parish). Skinny, smaller, slower? There isn't a big today with the power/quickness/explosiveness of Shaq and Hakeem. Them two beasts loved low-post contact. Can't say same with today's bigs that are soft as ultra-plush Tempurpedic pillows. That prefer finesse instead of beastin' then feastin' under the bucket. I guess you've never heard of Anthony Mason (two inches taller than Zion with better handles), Larry Nance, Chris Webber, Kevin Willis, Dale Davis, Antonio Davis, Roy Tarpley, Vin Baker (who has helped Giannis Antetokounmpo improve his footwork), Arvydas Sabonis (who was bigger and more skilled than his son Domantas), Wayman Tisdale, Xavier McDaniel, Otis Thorpe, Orlando Woolridge, Derrick Coleman, Jamal Mashburn, Larry Johnson, Shawn Kemp, Tom Chambers, Marques Johnson, Buck Williams, James Worthy, Dennis Rodman, Dominique Wilkins, Kevin McHale, Charles Barkley and Karl Malone. These cats were beasts in men. If any of them played in today's Massengill NBA, there would be a whole lot of modern-day ballers turning into Juwanna Mann and playing in the WNBA.

I’ve never seen such a long rant that was 100% false. Congrats on the dumbest comment on this video.
