My child has just went to another country for higher studies. Even though I have 2 children, however I feel like I have lost my limbs or someone has took my heart from me . The only thing which is keeping me sane is.....imagining my child pursuing her dreams , making new friends , being a confident person. As a parent , I feel that we should let our children chase their goals and yes each and every day is a new lesson for us as Parents to our children .

Top notch video Bharat.... I am not sure but I think most of my generation have started developing a lot of emotional connect with parents to the extreme. If you take our parents gen, most of them left their home at ages of 18-21 and move to urban areas in search of career opportunities. In case of us, it is kinda the same but the distance is large. However, with technology we can catch up with everyone anytime. Anyways, as you said, in the end what matters is - How good of a life you as an individual lived, which should be more about making a difference in someone's life rather than just setting benchmark of money earned....

I'm a Filipino high school student and an aspiring international student. I want to study abroad upon hearing the opportunities and the chance to get into a new culture. But a thing that breaks my heart is knowing that I'll have to leave my parents and home for me to be able to pursue my dreams. Another one that I mind is my brother who's an autistic kid living with my parents. They are not against with my plan as long as I can manage and live by myself. Yet they anticipate and worry that this might be a way for me to apply for citizenship and spend the rest of my life there. Well, I may not be firm with my plans after studying but it's still a decision that I have to consider. Hoping that the best plan works and God will guide me on my journey to future.

She was at home and could drive him in time. And this year he gets to play with his grandson. I was very ambitious before accident, all my friends are super ambitious, all settled in Western Europe. I feel left behind. So in constant dilemma if u should upgrade my education and plan for Europe. But then my parents are still fit. But they might need me.

Hello Bharat, my problem is slightly different- Yes, my parents, like most parents are able to take care of themselves, even my father has a pension, but my problem is that, they say that they will be unhappy by leaving me abroad! Actually they (actually my mother, who is just a house wife) haven't even lived for a continuous 24 hours except when my parents went to Chennai, and I stayed with my aunt, even then there were video calls after every 8-12 hours! My mother even say that there is no need of earning too much money but stay in the home place only, not even anywhere else in the country! I, like most others, do not have TOO MUCH problem in staying away but my parents may not be happy in leaving me!

This kind of resentment grows really deep very quickly and in the end, it is your life. Nobody else is living your life, but you yourself. So you have to be happy with any decision you take.

well tbh , that might be hard .... you should aim for your own pr and pc first , then you need to show that your mom is completely dependent on you ..... still it might go hard . ALL THE BEST

It's sad actually that young people don't feel able to pursue whatever their potential is because of parents' needs for attention. 🤨 I'd say whatever your culture of origin, travel while you can. Ideally, your parents should have their own life separate from their kids while they're not frail and sick. If they don't have any friends or hobbies there are bigger issues at play than you moving abroad.

Superb video Bharat,I was in a fix for my son to send him abroad as it's pretty difficult to convince grand parents as I hv a son and a disable bed ridden daughter and family thinks ,once he will b settled there he won't come back and then who will take care of us . there's a fear of Germany, it may change its policy after Angela Merkel . will it be a good decision to send him there or let him study here only. if u hv any clue of changing political scenario and it's impact on students so pls make a video .thnx my u get well sooner than others with all our blessings

Dear Minakshi, The way things are still running, I highly doubt that Merkel getting changed is going to bring a lot of massive immigration changes in Germany, mainly because of the fact that people in Germany know already that it is not easy for them to sustain their economy, if they don't bring people from other countries to work in their work force. So, I wouldn't worry about it so much, but just focus on the next steps of what he feels comfortable in doing.
