Thanks for having Stephanie on to share her story. She mentions the book "Your Money or Your Life" (by the late Joe Dominguez, and Vicki Robin) - a book that also changed my life. I am having all these weird woo-woo serendipitous moments this week - I used to teach the principles of "Your Money or Your Life" in a live class, and watching how stressed about money people are I have been thinking of designing a course to give on KZread. I am a Mastery Student, too, and so I follow a lot of artists who want to earn a living with their art, and I'm now thinking this is a "sign." Art is so much more than what most people perceive it to be, as Elli just talked about in her recent "Artist's Odyssey" email - and I do believe that people turning to creating art, and the life transformations that go with it - will make a huge difference in the world. Great story, Stephanie! Thank you for sharing. (Even the name "Linden" is another seredipitous thing that makes me sit up and pay even more attention! Who knew?)

@@stephanielinden2995 I WOULD believe! Many years ago I read "SYNCHRONICITY: The Inner Path of Leadership" by Joseph Jaworsky (son of the Watergate prosecutor), and if I ever discounted coincidences before, after that I don't! Peter Senge writes in the intro: "We've all had those perfect moments, when things come together in an almost unbelievable way, when events that could never be predicted, let alone controlled, remarkably seem to guide us along our path." Maybe it's time to re-read it! I'm so excited for the direction your life has taken, and the inspiration that provides for all of us. May that path bring you miracles and magic! And I will definitely think about doing the KZread course. I'll contact Vicki Robin to see about permissions. I know Joe died, but hopefully she's still around. I also read a book called "Getting a Life" by a couple who used YMOYL to transform their relationship with money. That was a good one to show how one couple had used the principles in their own lives. All the best, Stephanie! Thanks for responding! Janina

I felt the same way at the beginning of Mastery. Who was I to call myself an "artist"? Well, the work I created in the first month or two of Mastery totally shocked me. I always said I couldn't draw, for example, but I not only drew amazing art, and painted some pretty nice paintings, but I posted my work on Facebook and SOLD several pieces of artwork I created in Mastery. Elli kept saying it would happen. I though "Yeah, right. Those people were doing art BEFORE doing Mastery." I've never been so happy to be proven wrong! 😊

This was the most empowering video I have ever seen! So much so, that I want to share my goals with you and the Universe... 1. I am on the waiting list to join the Mastery Program and hopefully joining soon. 2. To complete the Mastery Program and become a very accomplished professional artist. 3. To become a mentor for the Mastery Program... because I truly love helping people and I hope I can help others achieve their goals even sooner in life than I. I have been artistic my whole life, I have dreamt of becoming an artist my whole life but never pursued it professionally. I am a mother of 4 and a grandmother of 3 and see this opportunity as a new chapter in my life that is calling me so strongly that I cannot silence it any longer. I sincerely hope one day for these goals to be my reality. Thank you so much to Elli and Stephanie for sharing such a wonderful story and thank you to the entire Milan team for all you do.

I have Pseudo Tumor, like Barb did... as well as other chronic conditions since I was young. Extremely painful and progressively debilitating, as Barb said. My heart went out to her and I cried tears of joy when she shared her beautiful testimony! God is so good and faithful. I especially love that she shared that He first healed her spirit, and brought her joy because that's the most important healing of all. We're all physically getting older and more fragile day by day, but our souls are eternal, and there is One true Healer and Home where our souls long to rest 💜✝️ Rooting for you, Barb!

This is one of the most inspiring interviews I’ve heard so far from Milan Art! It proves that no matter who we are and what we do or what phase in our life, we all want to find happiness in our work and have joy in sharing it with others. As a senior artist, definitely not in the art world, but just because I’ve lived a long time and just recently started painting. In 2020 my art journey began by taking an online drawing class utilizing Bargue plates. The lockdown forced us all to look at ourselves and to choose to continue to challenge our mind so as not to give up on life despite loss and illness. For me learning to draw at 64 in 2020, then learning to paint at 65 I can say it is never too late to re-evaluate and adjust our course when we want to. It’s not only for the young who are just starting out in life looking for a creative career. Your art academy has proved it is interested in taking any and all who desire to make the transformation from art lover to art creator and to find joy in living by doing something you truly love. Congratulations to your guest speaker, Stephanie, who continues your legacy of inspiration by removing the barrier of fear of change. My personal story goes from being in the drudgery of a corporate environment to learning the language of art and experiencing the joy in expressing it. I now at 69 have a website and have artwork featured in The Turquoise Journal spring edition. Who would have thought!! Thank you for this video❣️

I totally get the fear of live painting, about 10 years ago the nudge to do live painting would not leave me, I tried to brush it off to the side but, not until I actually did my first live painting did I understand the magic of doing something that is outside your comfort zone. Congratulations!

I've just listened to the video and read the latest comments and think "a physician, an attorney, a 9-5 federal career, like the kind of people who can afford it..." What about the rest of us who sometimes have to choose between heating and eating? I've been dreaming of becoming a successful artist for years because my income is very low. I recently opened yet another online gallery in the hope that by being "new" it might garner some interest but it didn't and then the bank rejected the fee and it was closed for 6 weeks... How am I going to make this thing work? Any suggestions, anybody?

Hi Louisa, I took the program while I was still working full-time as a physician. I was able to afford the program, but I sold most of my student pieces and ended up being able to pay for a significant part of the program with that. It took me a couple of years before I quit my day job and was in a position to be able to do so. I am working more hours now than I did previously. I love that you were being creative by opening an online gallery, I think you just have to continue being creative and find ways to get your art out there. Maybe find a venue where you can paint live for free after work. best wishes to you on your journey.!

Louisa, I just started to get a small government pension when I began Mastery. It was barely enough to live on. But I really, really wanted it. I signed up for monthly payments because they said you could quit any time. I watched a Milan video made by a coach who talked about creative ways to generate the money, including sharing your story and asking friends for help. So I did. I put it out there on Facebook, shared what I was doing and what my goal was, that financially it was a huge stretch, and inviting anyone who wanted to contribute to help me achieve this goal to do so. I was amazed by the response. I ended up with almost enough for the entire program, not including supplies.(And supplies are a good chunk of change for someone with low income.) But as promised, I was also able to sell several of the paintings and drawings I had made early in the course, which helped cover the cost of supplies. From years of experience I know that a subtle but powerful internal shift is required, sometimes from poverty consciousness to a recognition of your own wealth, which doesn't necessarily mean financial wealth. I am still low income, but I am rich in many other ways - my friends, and a low-income lifestyle that feels plentiful in many ways. I am the happiest I have ever been. My needs and wants are few, and I manage to get what I need. It has been many years getting here, but have faith in yourself, hold fast to your vision, align yourself with the Universe, and you will get there. Enjoy the journey too! Live each day finding the joy and being grateful for all that you DO have, and trust that you are heading in the right direction.
