Leatherworking - Puukko Leather Sheath
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Third knife sheath I made, getting pretty good I think. Next time I wanna try to do some differential dyeing which I considered doing here (Kind of regret not trying it) but finally decided not to because I didn't want to risk it on this sheath.
Thanks for watching!

Mad Skills 👍
Nice sheath. Glad there was no stock blues music over the video!
You taught me something, thx.
beautiful work sir
what liquid to use for skin formed
Great job. What size thread did you use? Anywho, keep up the great work. A longer belt loop, and rubber cement would be some advice. Also when wetting, do the entire surface everytime, it'll make your stains more consistent, especially if you use antique stains. Keep it up.
This is amazing a true master, I really want to learn this, any suggestions on a good starter leather working kit

I love your videos man, so relaxing to watch. Keep up the great work
Another trick to get the Fiebings oil dye to go on even without going too dark is to thin it with alcohol. Works great.

Every leather-working video just further amazes me by the variety of specific tools that I never would have guessed existed. Also, on the outro you only wrote ''Thanks Watching'' :D

Красота!
How did you determine the length of thread to use? Looks like you measured I out.
I love that knifesheath, I keep going back and watching your video. I wonder if you would kindly tell me what stamp you used for the centrepiece of sheath, looks so good, Cheers, Mike from Waikato N.Z.
wonderful
Good job.
is this sheath for lefties? great work
Damn is there nothing you can't do? I can't sew on a button. good show!
Great video! Thank you. Question: at 1:57 you put some liquid stuff on the leather. Can you tell me what that is?
@MakeNCreate

Ebel-Jan Schepers thanks. It's just water to soften the leather for stamping.
Everything was going along great until you cut the flesh side for the belt loop makes no since to cut through the strongest part of the hide in an area that will see the most stress . Just a few relief cuts on back side moisten and bend, and it will out live you . but nice work over all . As to the spine cut there's is only one other person I've seen do that and that is the North man sheath video disagree totally with removing so much leather then not wetting it before the bend hell you can see the flesh cracking already just makes no since at all there making legacy stuff those items are to hand down for generations .

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
мастер!

What is that substance in the can? You look like you use it for slicking edges and for sealing the leather? Is that the case?
@blurpleunc

It looks like beeswax, or maybe a custom mix of beeswax and paraffin. You can also use gum trag for burnishing edges. I'm just a hobbyist but I like using gum tragacanth to burnish the edges and then use something like leather balm with atom wax on the outside to buff and shine
awsome
Nice. I've got everything i need to make this. The only thing I'm lacking is the motivation😕
Very Nice..
Hi, nice sheath! By the way, what are you rub it up with?
@teatotal8822

Beeswax if I were to guess, but I don't know for sure.
master
Thx for video! very nice sheath. What Puukko model you use?
Did so I have an antique mora 502, and it has a blade guard, but I want to make a pukko style sheath for it, I can remove the blade guards with my dremel, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea, thoughts?

You could I guess u can do whatever its ur knife and as long as there is a guard your fine
@shaggyat5power112
5 жыл бұрын
@@colinperkins8794 I did do it, but not how I planned, instead of destroying the blade guard, I cut open the old wood handle, and than took the blade, and the bolster, and than made my own wood handle and redid it as a pukko knife, it turned out good
