Pretty good hands on review. I have the older charge ti. I don’t understand why leatherman continues to put that crimping groove in the jaws. I haven’t heard one reviewer say its functional, rather, it seems to detract from the use of that part of the pliers. Thanks

@Harry Daniels Are you always rude like this in real life? I hope not. Say whatever makes you happy. I don't care.

Thanks for a useful review! (can't stand "unboxings") 😆 Any remarks you'd add now, several years later? I like the Charge for random, unexpected light-duty tasks around town. For any situation where I know I'm going to need tools but don't want to lug around a full tool roll, I bring the Surge. It's more robust and the file and saw can easily be replaced when worn, dull, or broken. The Surge's main blade is just regular tool steel, which won't hold an edge as long as the Charge's super steel, but I'm fine with that given I never use a multitool blade as my main knife. I prefer a small fixed blade that doesn't have the pivot joint to worry about breaking under stress, but it's nice to have a backup knife on the multitool just in case. When I find the scissors most useful instead of a knife is for cutting bicycle inner tubes into "ranger bands". Using a knife blade, the bands end up all crooked due to the stretching rubber.

Galaxy S5 is a wonderful phone, but you need to put some work in it. Root, wipe, install custom debloated rom, voila.

Given money IS a factor, would anybody recommend the Charge or the Surge?

mouthfulloffeces The Surge is heavier, but it is more versatile because it can use Bosch saw blades. It also has replaceable 154 CM steel cutters for the pliers. It has all the same tools as the Charge except for the gut hook and it costs LESS money! I think for edc though for some it's weight might be a drawback.

@@craigmosolowski4663 I have a surge,I don't mind the weight honestly, but a charge tti might be nice to have so I could switch out,I prefer a pocket clip too,but I pouch carry surge to have the accessories with me.

Had to stop viewing at 5 minutes. Perhaps try removing a nail from the surface using the cutting edge and not the small pincer points toward the front end. Shows not much practical in the field hands-on experience

Um, you saw him remove a nail, unscrew a screw, remove a nut. Anything he “destroyed” was done to test the blades. So I really don’t understand what your problem is.

Why in the hell would you cut nails with a multitool!?!?!?! There not design for that kind of crap! I keep seeing people in KZread trying to cut nails and I’m like... huh?
