Leather DIY - Passport Case - Free Pattern
Passport wallets are a great DIY project in leather crafting, and we're happy to offer a free leather crafting pattern as a companion to this video thanks to Weaver Leather!
For this leather passport wallet, we used vegetable tanned leather and waxed polyester thread to hand cut and saddle stitch a case that will last the test of time. When you make this, we'd suggest using a 4-5oz leather for the exterior and a 2-3oz leather for the interior, although you could absolutely make this with one thickness of leather throughout!

The old bait and switch. Free pattern link doesn’t work but the $5 link works. Haha. Totally worth it! Nice job
Watched two videos and now I wanna get into this. Thanks KZread algorithm.

Watching this person work their magic lowers my blood pressure. Thank you.
The best leather ASMR channel is giving us a free pattern!!
Beautiful! Love that green leather! Contrasts well with the tan!!
You should probably change the title of the video as the “free pattern” doesn’t exist anymore on the link in the description.
I have purchased a few of your patterns and definitely appreciate the free one! Thanks for sharing your work. It is an inspiration for sure.
As always, superb work! And a free pattern to boot! Thank you!
Thank you so much for your interesting videos and free templates. Every success!
What a great pattern. Really happy with how mine came out. Changed it up a bit but not creative or brave enough yet to come up with my own stuff but thank you so much for the video’s, they make one feel as if leather working isn’t such a far off reality.
Amazing as always, really enjoyed the asmr atmosphere 😌
Love it! Green and tan...great color combination. ..
7:40 Even the lighter used are within luxurious leather case!!!!
I don't see the pattern on your website... Is it still available?
Perfect for upcoming trips to Scotland and then Japan!
As a kid I took leather craft in high school. Back when they offered REAL elective choices! I loved it. Now I'm aspiring to relearn the craft (at a much lower level than this VERY steady handed artisan). I just wish that along with the video and the patterns you would post a list of tools used in the video as well as the correct mm size to make it easy to click and buy. Also, I really want to see how you make those knots when you're threading your needle for hand sewing! Soooo love this video! Thank you!
Oooo thanks for the pattern! Definitely making this for my naked passport.

Thank you guys!!!
Great video and beautiful work! Is this pattern still available? The link does not appear to be working, thanks in advance!
Thank you for taking the time and creating very informative content. I'd really like to hear the thoughts and opinions from everyone (if Corter Leather can chime in, that would be awesome) on a basic tool setup for a person just starting out. Any other words of wisdom or direction to quality resources would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for this!
Ficou um ttrabalho lindo. Parabéns.
May I suggest as "a modern life improvement" to add a sheet of tinfoil between 2 sheet of leather? This will make the wallet have RFID protection for credit cards or any cards with data that can be stolen. I do that to my projects at least which have credit card slots and it works like a charm. If you worry about any possible noise that the sheet of tinfoil can cause or if it breaks with time, you can wrap it with a thin layer of plastic tape/duct tape. I enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing them. Greetings from Greece.
Very nicely done. Thank you for sharing. It's hard to find a good passport holder.
Thank you. 👍
Traditional quality and style.
That was therapeutic
Yalls tutorials/videos/movies/therapy sessions are probably my favorite out here on the inner web. Is your ruler cork backed? I have one that is and one that ain’t 😉 but they both will move on me when I’m trying to cut a straight line. Drives me bonkers.... I know... short trip eh? Any who, thanks guys and gals, once again you did good!

We love hearing that! We use cork back rulers, yep! For the most part they're way more safe but there are some types of leather that all rulers slip on.Gotta be really really careful with those hides!

Put a thin coat of contact cement ( glue) on the back of steel rulers n let it dry. Works great

@@mickhulme3768 you know how when you hear some suggestions and you just feel like thumping your head ‘cuz you so should of thought if that…. Well, I thumped my head! The contact cement thing is SIMPLY brilliant. That’s why I love leather workers- always figuring things out and more than that - Sharing their knowledge. I’ve never seen any other trade that does it like we do. Thank you!
Thank you for the wonderful tutorial and thank you for the free pattern print. Allah bless you.

Is there anywhere to still get this pattern? The link to Weavers website doesn't seem to show the pattern anymore?
Hello ! I want to try to make this pattern ( excuse me for my english ) but what is " the glue " used in this video please ? :) Thanks you !
Good evening sir. I love your videos. I am a woodworking furniture maker. I only do small leather stuff for myself. I was curious if you still had the plans for this and if I could purchase it from you? When I went to the first link its no longer available. Then I went to your website and saw plans for a passport wallet but they are much different from this one. So I wanted to check with you to see if I could purchase these plans from you somehow? Thank you sir. -Matthew
Gracias por el patrón gratuito 😃
our sm senior group receive much entertainment from viewing your channel . we noticed your leather bic lighter holder gets a lot of work . our accolades for this fine presentation.
What’s the name of the green coloured leather used in the video?
Hi, the link for this pattern isn’t referenced on the site. Is there a direct link available?
What do u rub on the sides to make it smooth
How long do you leave the leather to bind between the granite?
Does this pattern already factor in trim allowance?
Hi, your Free Patterns doesn't work anymore, is it normal? Thanks for your videos! :)
Where I can purchase your product. I can’t find your craft in amazon. Please help.
What size whole puncher are you using?
Excelent Job! How can I get the free pattern for the Passport Case from above? Thanks for your help.
Could you please tell which sickness of leather you have used for exterior and interior
Top notch...as usual 🦑
That was absolutely a joy to watch but I have some questions and hopefully someone knows the answers to because I am about to make this exact same passport wallet. 1) It appeared that he used a special way to thread the needle, 2) He appeared to be stitching a special way because of the extra thread he had wrapped around his fingers, and 3) What was the liquid he coated the edges with before buffed them? Thank you so much. SUPER excited for my first leather attempt.

Pretty standard stuff. The thread is through the eye, then inserted into the end of the thread approx 1 inch.. and pulled through. as for stitching look at his other videos. He using a leapfrog method of saddle stick to apply tension to the line and keep the stitches clean.
Maestro I made an ugly copy of your master piece. Great share by your highness
I've seen the cobbler hammer used to tack down the seams once the hyde glue is laid down. Do they make a press that would do a similar job. Simply insert the edges under the appropriate flat/straight edge and pull the lever to compress. It would remove the hammer dimples left in the material.
@Corter
4 жыл бұрын
I'm sure you could make a press if you designed it right! We use our granite blocks to press single layers together, the weight works perfect - with multiple layers at different levels the hammer is the fast/simple way but if you did maybe a press with a foam insert that could work too!
@polosandoval

You can cover the face of the hammer with a piece of leather. I use a brayer and that works pretty well.
It looks perfect !!! You forget to put your logo
What kind of thread do you use???
Why cant i download the pattern??
