The Government Law College Alumni Association (Students’ Wing), Mumbai organises the yearly “Young Achievers’ Lecture Series” to guide the students of GLC by example of its Alumni and with the belief that much can be achieved irrespective of age in the legal fraternity.
As a part of this lecture series, here's presenting a video recording of the lecture:
‘Learnings from practicing Law overseas’
with Ms. Karishma Vora
Ms. Vora is an alumnus of GLC. She has the rare expertise of being dual qualified as an advocate in India and as a barrister in England. She is a member of 39 Essex Chambers in London and runs the Chambers of Karishma Vora in Fort, Mumbai. She has a cross-border practice, specialising in commercial litigation and international arbitration. She is frequently instructed by Indian law firms, companies and individuals in English-law governed high value claims at the Commercial Court in London, DIFC Court in Dubai and arbitrations seated in London, Dubai, Singapore etc. Being one of the most inspiring women in law, she is ranked in the Legal 500 UK for the year 2020 and 2021 as a leading individual for commercial litigation. We have requested her to guide students of GLC by her own example, and share with us what she took away from her time at GLC and her learnings from practising a legal career overseas.
