From someone who works in the industry, plz plz plz make sure you get quality inks If you’re going ro tattoo a person! No hate at all it’s just some cheap off brand tattoo inks have things like mercury and led in them and it won’t be listed. Please be careful ❤

Coming into a room with a microphone on a ladle is such a mood tbh

Please use skin analogs to practice, as well as, going to an actual tattoo shop, and learning from them. I've had many, many coworkers in the restaurant business that just let their friend/girl/boyfriend's practice on them, and OMFG, so many perfect candidates for a tattoo fixing show.

Gotta admire the “jump into the deep end of the pool” method of trying new things!

​@@CypherDen you make me think about the store of my grandfather when he was a kid he had only Indian ink and Jess the needle without the machine and tattoo his name on his arm when he was a kid and did it on his own and it perfectly said Herb on his arm that was my grandfather's name so yes he was tough as nails when he was a kid

Im honestly so relieved you didn't end up tattooing anyone by the end tbh ahdbsjd ngl that had me SCARED for what could have gone wrong. (Esp when you started out that you couldn't remember how long to leave the stencil and then smudged it with deodorant. No hate just, that's probably something to at least brush up on before you start tbh) there's a reason tattoo apprenticeships tend to be around 1-2 years.

not a tattoo artist, but I heard tattooing on fruit such an apple helps a lot bc you get to lear how to tattoo on something with a lot of curves or a round surface area. Also instead of learning in a week why not in a month that would be cool, or two weeks lol.

Hiii, licensed tattoo artist here! I’ve been tattooing for 1.5 and I attended a tattoo school so here’s some tips I can give from what I’ve learned so far: -tattooing fake skin: leave the stencils on overnight so they won’t smudge and then use alcohol to wipe the stencil off. Also, don’t feel too bad about going too deep as when you tattoo at correct depth, it’s very common for your lines to hardly pull at all :/ -tattooing real skin: you can tell when your lines are about to blow out because the ink will spread on the sides (kinda looks like veins). It’s not noticeable to the client, but you as the artist will definitely be able to see it (you have to look kinda closely) as you’re pulling your lines so pay attention to that!! -stencils: you can buy this goop called stencil stuff. It’s what you’d use on actual skin, put enough on for it to be tacky for application. You can also buy and use stencil spray on your fake skin or real skin to have the stencil hold better and not fade as easily when tattooing. -you can use Vaseline to help make the needle glide as you’re pulling lines Those are a few tips I can share! Again only have been tattooing for 1.5 years so I’m still pretty new, but I definitely feel like going through a good tattoo school helped me learn a lot and I’ve been able to apply t that knowledge on my own for a bit now :3 I go by @skullmonkeytattoos on instagram if anyone’s interested in anime or kawaii tattoos 💕 Good luck if you pursue tattooing! Even as just a hobby it’s really fun to connect with people through tattooing :3

For reals tho, don't buy a tattoo machine and offer tattoos. A tattoo artists work station needs look like a surgeons and hygiene is a TOP priority. Otherwise a infection and sepsis is a real possibility that can result fatally under 24 hours.

Often why we procrastinate, because we don't have faith in our ability to do what we planned, we see it as a form of stress so we run away from it, and it's helpful to break it down into simpler tasks to do. So that pen (wait), covers the whole sketch (depending on your schedule and needs, you might have a rough estimate of % of the sketch as a whole. Of where to start then stop and resume where you last left off). To be honest, I often procrastinate too for these very same reasons. But is important to know that when you're doing something like this it should be fun for fun. If you're doing it just for fun then it's easy to enjoy and spend minutes enjoying the process. And there are many schedule troubles here and there too. But sometimes we all need to take a step back, what do we really want to see in our schedules? Tasks achieved and feel filled/ or overwhelmed and got nothing done? If you're having a hard time doing all of this, please take a break, and find what makes animation and anything else you do exciting and why you enjoy. I hope it wasn't torture to read all of this. You don't have to take my advice I'm only trying to help where I can, and I hope that some of these inspire your own Good and Healthy Solutions to go about what you're dealing with. Best Wishes and Luck on your Journeys.
