learning to reparent myself ~

An emotional, personal video with lots of talking. Hesitant to put it up but I just wanted to put my thoughts and experiences out there and making videos is my medium. Thank you always for watching. (and for anyone else on a similar journey. . .I'm right there with you ❤️)
thanks to ‪@CrappyChildhoodFairy‬ for the insight and the daily ritual techniques

‘I’m waiting for my perfect self to show up.’ That really hit hard with with me. So often I neglect looking after myself and I don’t start things because I don’t feel like I’m good enough yet. I know I don’t know you in real life, but you truly seem like a genuinely kind, caring and lovely person. I hope things get a bit brighter for you soon. Sending you my love.

I often find that being my own best friend is all that I can rely on. It’s solid. I think you have a lot of self love and self respect and I know you are going to be super fine! Sending you a big hug. I feel much better too when I clean up and pick up in my room. It’s a form of “picking up the soul.”

Oh Rah, I feel so bad for just now watching your latest video. I continue to admire you for your honesty and transparency. Depression is a relentless cycle, but thank you for being open with us and continuing to fight for your worth. You are a wonderful person, please keep sharing. 💕

Dear Rah, I started following you after seeing your intermittent fasting video. I fell in love at once with your sweet soul. About a year later you are giving me epiphanies about my own childhood, how I've dealt with life, relationships, isolating myself, and how I (haven't) take(n) care of myself. Thank you. I feel like your sister. Sending you a big warm hug

I know it takes a lot to be vulnerable, and opening up is the best way to know you are not alone. There are workbooks on inner child work on Amazon, I recommend getting one. My mother has a plethora of issues and is toxic and I chose not to allow her to affect be anymore; I'm 44, emotionally free, and I'm a mental health counselor. Hugs and know there is always hope!

Wow, I didn’t expect to relate to so much of what you shared. Thank you ❤️ so much to think on now... waiting for your perfect self to show up, the perfectionism that makes you feel like you’re two different people, meticulous & a mess. Sometimes it truly feels like I am trying to punish myself for something but am not sure what. Like I deserve to feel disgusting, ashamed, unclean and skip a shower. I wish you all the best and may this be an entirely new spring and summer for you 💛 I am committed to changing my harmful habits and this came at the perfect time. Let’s do better in taking care of our inner child. ✨

Yep you've got to reparent yourself and remember parenting is hard work. A lot of doing things you don't wanna. It'll suck for a while but like every parent you'll get into a routine. Because of my parents, I never felt I was worth anything, until I had my own children who thought I was worth everything. So I chose to see myself through their eyes and feel worthy. You're such a beautiful person. I hope one day you'll see how special you are ❤️

I found your channel through the diet content (I'm doing IF and eating 12-8pm, 1200 cals) but I relate so much to this video, and my not-so-good parental relations. It's hard to dissociate from our feelings when it comes to making the right choices for our health and mind. Thank you for putting it all into words, you're not alone and I hope you are as happy as possible right now 😊 hope to see some more of your content one day! x

I do these things as well... and hearing you say that you sometimes live in those conditions and not taking care of yourself because you don’t deserve it or aren’t worthy of it made me realize that I tell myself those things. It truly is reprogramming oneself to do the things that come easily to others. Side note, now that you’ve shared about your mom... I almost wonder if that had a part in your career choice. You’re taking care of others, and even mothering them in a way of that makes sense. I could be wrong though! Take care of yourself dearest Rah. You are most certainly worthy of self-care and a clean space to thrive in. And I am too! 💚🐝

Rah, i been following for a while now. I do have to tell you that you doing is letting out of emotion and something you can look back at because your letting it all out and there will be a point in life that the more you repeat and take it out chest you will heal it takes time and you letting this out is good. I admire you for picking up and do what makes you feel good. We have to take a time to do us. It's okay when you stay away to focused because that's the time we can make for ourselves to refresh or recharge our own battery. I am sending you lots of hugs 🤗 . Wish I was there but i know we all need time to work on ourselves.

Thank you for sharing this because it does help those of us who are on a similar journey. I just saw another person speak about re-parenting themselves and breaking those cycles of neglect and poor habits that they formed when they didn't have anyone to teach them otherwise. She talked about how her parents weren't there to nurture habits like eating properly or taking a shower and so when she was a child and she had to take care of herself, she made the executive decisions about things like how important bathing was. Those issues carried over and now she's making it a point to speak to the child she was, as the parent she needed. Its really eye opening.
