I first felt connected to God when I walked alone for two weeks sleeping under the stars and realized this world was no friend to me. I understand then why so many spiritual men live out in the wilds away from distractions, praying, and being thankful. Thank you Father you gave me the gift of the Jesus prayer.!

Thank you so much Father, your videos give me strength when I stumble with the cross I carry. I come from a Mexican family with deep Catholic roots and my conversion to the Orthodox faith has made me a stranger in my own home. I sacrificed so much with my conversion and have been coping with this new life. There’s a lot of pain inside of me, but I feel within my soul that this was the right path for me even though I don’t understand at the moment. Thank you so much for helping me keep steadfast in the faith. God bless you Father ☦️🙏

Hello Francisco, thank you for sharing your experience, it is inspiring to hear of such desire for God. Christ told us that families would turn against us when we become His disciples, and the reality of this can be painful. God bless you.

Francisco, keep enduring. That road is difficult, but we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. I too have been on this road for about 10 years, and although difficult, well worth it.

So make up your minds not to prepare beforehand to defend yourselves; for I will give you utterance and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able to resist or refute. 16 But you will be betrayed even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death, and you will be hated by all because of My name. Yet not a hair of your head will perish. Luke 21:15-18

Sometimes im so full of spirit it seems surreal, other times i have none and feel alone/empty. I read somewhere faith for some is like the ebb and flow of the tides, in and out, full and empty. I need to pray more, but i always find a reason, always a reason to sin, an out, a lie to myself. Some would say thats my inner demon (screwtape perhaps?) I dont know but i feel faith is hard sometimes. Lord Jesus, son of God have mercy on me a sinner! Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy inmortal have mercy on US sinners, in the name of the father, son and holy spirit, now and ever till the ages of ages, amen!

@@388CarolineHeavenly Father, I humbly come to pray that through the will of God and power of the Holy Spirit, that my sister in Christ's son be freed from SS attraction. I pray, that they will be released from the bondages of the enemy. I pray to you, Holy Spirit, that you will lead my sister's son in the right direction. I pray that through the blood of Jesus that he will be saved and convicted and forgiven of his sins through Holy Spirit baptism. For, Father, Your word says that the wages of sin is death, but Your gift is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23). I am grateful for Your Son and the fact that I am able to be saved through His blood. I come into thanksgiving and I thank you Jesus for Your sacrifice that we did NOT deserve, but because of Your love for us You inquired for the Father's will to be done. I pray that throigh Your sacrifice, that my sister's son can come to repentance and dwell in Your everlasting love. Thank you Father for allowing us to dwell in your presence. Thank you ALMIGHTY GOD who reigns above all, and greatness is unsearchable. Whose love for us is so immense that we cannot begin to comprehend it. Whose power and majesty is everlasting. Thank you, Holy Spirit for guiding this prayer. ALL PRAISE, HONOR, AND GLORY BE TO THE MOST HIGH GOD. In the MIGHTY name of JESUS I praise, AMEN ✝️🙏

I am so thankful that the Lord has put your video on my path. I am a Protestant looking into the Orthodox faith, trying to learn from videos from people in the church. The video before this one was about mother Mary. I cried out in repentance after finding out my lack of respect for the Mother of God. So I tried to ask her to forgive me with tears pouring down my face but then I doubted that she could hear me, so I tried to pray to God as I always do but now I questioned if I am even doing that right and said to myself that I can't do anything right and started to get really sad and frustrated at myself. Grabbed my phone again, and the first thing I saw on my screen was this video. Thank you thank you thank you. The Lord is good.

I am so impressed with how true + correct these teachings are. I love them. It's like the secrets of monks+nuns finally revealed to those that are serious about their faith. That's what the listener is getting here if the listener doesn't know. You can take what Fr Spyridon is saying as far as you want, as far as anything can be known; even things unknown to the world. The keys to every door. He is not leaving the listener ignorant of anything. The listener is not getting any less from Fr Spyridon's talks than they could've expected 2000 years ago.

These videos can be a good source of theological education and deepen your faith. Despite there being no orthodox church near you, perhaps you may attend a church of a different denomination. Catholicism is the closest in its practices and covets the sacrament given by receiving the eucharist, although it is not good enough to say a church is better than no church if the only churches nearby are protestant or anglican. Read your bible, take up your cross and ask the lord for his forgiveness.

Hello Greg, if you look online you will find the diocese in your area. It may be Greek, ROCOR etc, but as long as it is Orthodox the faith is the same. I would. however, encourage you to try to find a parish that worships at least mainly in your own language - this will greatly help you.

In my own walk I come to conclusion that I should always talk to God as much a possible , especially when in angry jealousy or anything ... Even if sometimes I feel like blaming God or spew angry words at Him . Am I wrong ?

Where do I get prayer books to pray

  • @secretbear87

Fr. Spyridon, I've heard that if you're not in a state of Grace, then your prayers are essentially unheard and/or something along those lines. Is this true? I firmly believe in prayer; regardless of one's state, but I struggle with this reasoning.

God hears every prayer, just as he hears every word and thought. However, we must not think of prayer in terms of how it "works" or ghets effects. The prayers of the saints are more powerful because they are themselves more in line with the will of God. The mind and prayers of a person who does not truly seek god will be filled with passions and self-will and so will not be seeking the will of God.

Hello Nick, hesychasm is the Orthodox way of inner silence practised by monastics. It is never to be attempted without the guidance of an experienced spiritual Father, as it can expose us to the tricks of the demons. It uses the Jesus Prayer as a means of silencing and controlling the mind, so that true attention on God can be achieved. Although the majority of us are not called to this way of life, we can benefit from the wisdom shared by those who have taken this path. The writings in the Philokalia are particularly useful.

This chapter was revealed during the Meccan period. It discusses the attributes of Allah the Exalted, the One and Unique. The chapter compiles some of Allah’s perfect attributes that exist at all times. Allah is One who is free of any need, deficient attributes, similarity, and resemblance. It is also a refutation against the Christians who said that Allah is three (Father, Son, and Holy Ghost) and the idol worshipers who ascribed to Him descendants and progeny. Explanation of the Verses 112:1 Say, He is Allah, [who is] One Say O’ Messenger: He is Allah, the One unique in His divinity, lordship, names, and attributes. No one shares with Him in any of those qualities. 112:2 Allah, the Sustainer Allah alone is sought in completion of all [our] needs and desires. 112:3 He has never had offspring, nor was He born He neither has a child, a parent, nor a wife. 112:4 And there is none comparable to Him There is nothing comparable nor similar to Him in His creation whether it be in His names, attributes, or actions. He is truly unique in every way.

Hi Father, i just finished reading chapter 16 of Orthodoxy and the kingdom of satan. I may be off topic but i had a question. According to pure Orthodox teaching, was there any death before the fall of Adam and Eve, i mean not death for humans( we know that death for humans came with the fall) but death for animals and everything else in the universe? Could you refer to some sources from tradition or something like that? Greetings in Christ!

Warrior In Christ do you know that it is a temptation from the demons to fill our minds with questions that really do not matter if we know the answers or not. They usually lead us to pride if we know a lot of them and also to doubts since some of them are really beyond our human mind.

Hello, death is the consequence of sin. Before man sinned there was no death - for man or other living creature. Sin had a cosmic effect that caused te universe to be full of pain, deterioration and death. For an excellent account of this with lots of references to the Church Fathers look up Father Seraphim Rose's book on creation. God bless you.
